Sacramento down 5 midway through the fourth quarter in Orlando. Going to be another big loss for them if they can't take back the lead.

And Cousins has 28 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists. Will probably end with 30+ points.

I do agree with the poster question if Boogie is so good...why can't he make Sacramento at least respectable?  The great players do that...

You could literally say the same thing about Anthony Davis...

Not entirely disagreeing with you, but that logic has its flaws as well.

Pelicans are 0-5. Is Anthony Davis also overrated in that case? Is he just some guy putting up great numbers on a bad team?

I was asking myself the same question and honestly don't know the answer. But one thing is clear AD has a MUCH better attitude.

No doubt about that.

Although Cousins has had to deal with the losing for a long time.

Notice a few days ago AD was talking about how it felt horrible to be 0-5.. and honestly if he gets shut down the final stretch of the season because the Pelicans are putrid.. he will start to get frustrated too.

Without question losing sucks and is frustrating but these guys get paid a TON of $ to be professional. When I watch Boogie he looks p---ed off the entire time like he doesn't even enjoy playing the game.

Point taken.

Davis definitely has a better attitude than Cousins.

But Cousins could also be the most realistic option between the two, and it does help IT and Cousins seem to have respect for each other (they are friends).

Kings lose again. 2-4 on the season.

Cousins had 33 points

Gay had 16 points. Second best scorer. And he's all but gone from Sacramento after this season (whether he's traded or decides to walk after this season - all but inevitable).

I'm hoping it's also growing for Anthony Davis over there at New Orleans as well  8)

LOL WOW, Bucks have outscored the Kings 19-3 in the 3rd so far.

Lead Kings 80-51 now. Cousins has 15 points so far.

Haha I posted a similar post in the NBA Season thread.

Gay is supposedly out for a couple of games, too, and they have a back to back game tomorrow in Toronto. Going to be a rough run for them. They could lose the next ten games if they don't beat the Lakers and Pelicans at home, who are neither pushovers for the Kings.

So do the Celtics even have a chance of getting Cousins?

A lot depends on the Kings FO and Cousins (especially if he demands out).

The thing is, Kings need to ship Cousins by the deadline if they want value... Otherwise no one is giving up anything for an "expiring deal" after this season.

Also Kings are going to lose Rudy Gay and are already losing lots of games. Cousins should really demand to get out soon unless he loves Sacramento a lot more than we think.

I don't see any other near contender that has anywhere near the assets that we do.

Sure, certain other teams could potentially outbid us with young promising players, but most of these teams are not any closer to contending or even making the playoffs than Sacramento, meaning Cousins won't agree to go there, which is part of the consideration no matter what some say.

Amir, Brown, Rozier, Young, the 2017 Brooklyn pick, and the Memphis pick (or even the other Brooklyn pick if absolutely necessary) is about as good as any potential contender with Cousins can offer. This also allows them to start completely fresh with this draft with two probable top-five picks in the Brooklyn pick and their own pick, though Philly has swap rights if it's higher.

That's assuming that Sacramento takes a rational approach to rebuilding, which is a fairly risky assumption.

The Kings should trade Cousins to the Celtics for the Nets pick, Rozier and some other draft picks.

They would end up being a bottom 5 team after losing Cousins and get two top 5 picks in a stacked draft. It would be a great reboot for the Kings. They would just have to hire someone that can actually draft.

They would most likely be terrible the year after also so they would potentially end up with 3 top 5 picks in 2 years. They may even be able to trade WCS for a future lottery pick before his value goes any lower.

Can someone give me a better plan for the Kings that involves keeping Cousins?

Hell, I'll even give up IT if it means getting Cousins

Smart / Rozier
AB / Green
Crowder / Brown
Horford / Kelly
Cousins / Amir

That's still a much better team than what we have.
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale
