Deal sounds about par for the course under this new landscape.  I don't think I'll call it either a good deal for CLE or an albatross either.  Just sort of market.

Good for JR.   Pretty much getting what he wanted.

He may not be worth it long term but he was under paid before that team so it evens out. Would have liked if he went else where though.

im pretty scared for how we are gonna manage paying all these guys in a few years. We have 3 of our guys going into free agency in 2018 right? Smart, Bradley, and Isaiah? It'll be interesting to see how much the team changes by then, and who is/is not needed anymore.
I could very well see the Hawks... starting Taurean Prince at the 3, who is already better than Crowder, imo.

you vs. the guy she tells you not to worry about

That's a lot of money for an inconsistent 31 year old player. Glad it wasn't us.

This is exactly the sort of obscene contract we thought we'd be seeing with the new cap hike.

AB's deal is lookin' pretty good nowadays!

One will be gone and maybe two depending on Rozier and draft picks. Can't dump all your money into the back court. Hell we still need another big. This will be interesting for sure.

If Jaylen, Yab, Zizic, Bentil, Jackson all flop, Horford starts to suck, and Jae gets traded to the knicks for second rounder, I will still be eternally grateful and respectful to Danny for not making this truly awful mistake.

We do have all of their Bird rights so I guess we can sign them all to massive paydays if we are really good by then. What does luxury tax really mean to us fans?

More realistically, Danny will make a trade or two next offseason to either bring in a bigger 'star' player and/or bring in a player/players who at least an additional year on their contracts at a reasonable rate.

The bigger decision comes next offseason with trying to keep KO or trade Bradley when we go after a top free agent.
