Philly needs guards and shooting in the worst way. With Simmons and Saric something has to give, add in Okafor, Noel, and Embiid and the frontcourt needs to unload someone.

For the Celtics we get a decent player in return. Grant can't shoot but he can swing Between the three and four, he can switch and guard multiple positions.

Excellent athlete. Blocks shots 1.6 per game as well. For those that think we need to give up more we can add Mickey or Jackson and it still works in trade machine.

This is a potential win win trade for both teams. It would not surprise me fur Young or Hunter to flourish with wide open shots playing off Simmons when he's back, Embiid, And Okafor and Saric.

Grant is not that great of a player, but he's cost controlled for two more years and he brings more to the team than those two.

why don't go for one of Noel/Okafor then? with Bayless injury, I'm pretty sure they would at least consider an offer including a combination of Rozier/Jackson/Hunter/Young and a couple of low value pick...especially if they don't want Noel to become a problem in the locker room

Yeah. So far, Young and Hunter are both shooters that can't shoot. I basically see this as trading 2 nickels for a dime and since neither of the nickels is looking like they're going to be part of the rotation this year, I don't see why not.

I'd love that but it's simply not realistic

Grant doesn't add much, but since at least 1 of those 2 proposed to be trading is getting cut and the other is in the DLeague (if not cut) then you might as well make the trade.

As an aside, Grant is one of those DLeaguers that has been on Philly for years.  Seems odd you would have to trade 2 recent first round picks to acquire a DLeaguer.
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - D. Daniels, Mitchell, G. Wallace, Melo, Noah
Deep Bench - Korver, Turner

I don't see Phili agreeing to this deal. Grant is no all-star or anything but he's far superior to both Young and Hunter. They also have Stauskas who is like a more highly touted version of Young and Hunter, and they got Gerald Henderson now who is far better than all of these guys.

It's the kind of trade I could see happening. Two 'prospects' for a low ceiling, but maybe productive (if called upon) player. These two franchises are at different states and have different priorities heading into this season - not sexy, but gets the job done for both clubs.

Unless Philly is planning on cutting Grant, I don't see why they'd do it.  I don't think Hunter AND Young would make the 76ers roster.  Maybe one, but not both.  So then they'd essentially be trading Grant for one of them, which I don't think they'd do.

I'd just go Hunter and Young for Stauskas.  All three seem useless at this point, but Stauskas can bring back more salary in a mid season trade since his salary is higher.

Also, remember 15 months ago when people were mad about picking Rozier at 16 but Hunter was a steal at 28?  Seems funny now.

I like the train of thought but I'd want Holmes instead of Grant.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

Because the Grant idea is a way to easily get rid of a guaranteed contract. It is a very minor move to not have to cut someone for nothing. Trying to trade for Okafor or Noel is more disruptive and requires a lot more negotiation.

I would do it but it's one of those crap for crap trades you rarely see happen.

I mean, sure I guess. Does Grant get any more playing time here though, than RJ or young? I imagine Gerald, Jaylen, and Jonas will be splitting the minutes at the 3 and 4 positions the most.
I could very well see the Hawks... starting Taurean Prince at the 3, who is already better than Crowder, imo.

you vs. the guy she tells you not to worry about
