I mean, sure I guess. Does Grant get any more playing time here though, than RJ or young? I imagine Gerald, Jaylen, and Jonas will be splitting the minutes at the 3 and 4 positions the most.

Yes, he absolutely gets more minutes. Not 27mpg he was getting in Philly,

It would be good for the Celts. It would be nice insurance for Jaylen and Jae C.  I think we'd have to at least add a 2nd to get Philly to go for it

I'd send those 2 to Philly for a bag of practice basketballs and an autographed 8x10 of Andrew Toney.
Coined the CelticsBlog term, "Euromistake."

He would bring depth to SF and PF. He's got a 7'3" wingspan. A good back up for Jerkebo as well.

Hey, look who it is! How's life? Your post frequency is a lot less these days. I imagine it's hard to criticize Jaylen and Danny and whoever else you like to ridicule when they're not going with your agenda.

As far as your comment, well, let's just say it's exactly how I expected it would be. Care to add in any "anti-danny" remark too?

All jokes aside, I'm actually glad to see your posts again here.
I could very well see the Hawks... starting Taurean Prince at the 3, who is already better than Crowder, imo.

you vs. the guy she tells you not to worry about

Also, remember 15 months ago when people were mad about picking Rozier at 16 but Hunter was a steal at 28?  Seems funny now.

TP, everyone was so sure! Rozier at 15? Rozier at 15?! Waste of pick. We could have got him later. The mocks had him in the 30's! Thank goodness we took R.J Hunter to salvage the draft.

Danny has a good history with athletic but slightly undersized or undervalued defensive combo guards in that range (Bradley, Rondo, Tony Allen) and opted for the most Aingey guy in the draft with Rozier.

Totally on board with the trade KG Living Legend. Grant is using the same trainer as Jaylen I think this quote from him show's the idea has got a bit of legs to it.

Quote
We want him to play the 3, because they just drafted Ben Simmons to play at the four. And so, the 3/4 number system, it's really just telling you where they're going to be on the floor for spacing. Numbers really don't matter. But J-Grant, he's gotta be able to make corner threes consistently. Especially if he's going to be on the floor with Ben Simmons.

Might take more to pry him away like one of our mid first round picks but Jerami Grant is trending into an Al Faruq Aminu type and he might be attainable since Ben Simmons, Dario Saric, and Timothé Luwawu-Cabarrot are there to soak up minutes at the 3/4.

I might do it, though not with much excitement.

Young is a long ways off from being decent. His BBIQ just isn't good at all, and his athleticism is mediocre at best. He needs a few more years, probably not here. In Philly at least he'd get more reps. I have no problem with letting him go.

I have more faith in Hunter, but he needs to start hitting shots. His problem seems to be confidence more than ability.

Grant seems decent but IMO would get buried on the bench because his 3pt shooting is terrible. Brown, Crowder, and Green are all ahead of him on the depth chart. Before we know it his contract would be up and he's gone. So we likely will never know if he is Jae Crowder 2.0 or not, though he might have some chance of becoming that.

While right now he is probably better than Hunter, in the short term we actually might need Hunter's shooting (assuming it comes around) more than we need Grant's size.

I like the train of thought but I'd want Holmes instead of Grant.
Agreed. Holmes always seems to play with passion. Like he has a lot to prove, which he offcourse has.
But thats what you want to see from any future Celt. We also need some help at the rim and Holmes does that. He has a nice reliable looking hook around the rim. But unfortunatly tries to block all shots. Needs good mentoring for his good motor.

Grant has a nice pedigree. I respect that.
I'd do the deal. It's a good deal considering we will probably cut Young.
Basically RJ for Grant.
We have Green now to provide what RJ and Young give.

I am against adding a big who shoots less than 45% from the field.  Pedigree or no, your supposed to put the ball in the hole.

He could be the next Aminu or such type. I would say he is a more of an asset than RJ is.

http://www.csnphilly.com/philadelphia-76ers/sixers-trade-jerami-grant-thunder-ersan-ilyasova

Baaaah, would've like Grant on this team.

Quote
The Sixers on Tuesday traded Grant to the Thunder for forward Ersan Ilyasova and a conditional future pick.

The Sixers intend to keep Ilyasova, according to a source.

According to Yahoo's Adrian Wojnarowski, who first reported the deal, the Thunder had been pursuing Grant for several months.

Great deal for Philly, turns a redundant piece into a conditional first and a league average starter 4, who happens to come from the same country that one of your top young talents has been playing in for the last 2 years. Ersan Ilyasova is a 10 year veteran and will be an excellent influence on Dario Saric.

Good deal for both sides, Thunder just got even more athletic.
