Is this kid really someone I need to pay attention to?  Is it a classic late-round future d-leaguer that people overreact to?

I mean, it's 3 minutes of his highlights every few days. It's not really something you have to "pay attention" to.

And FWIW, his per 36 stats are fantastic.
I could very well see the Hawks... starting Taurean Prince at the 3, who is already better than Crowder, imo.

you vs. the guy she tells you not to worry about

Wow just wow!

21 pts in 23 minutes...he is a machine!

(Big thanks to Tomasz Kordylewski for these videos - btw)
I don't see the Wow.  Really poor defense by the other team gave him a bunch of easy layups.

He's leading the league in points, rebounds and index rating!

Can he at least get an ATTABOY?!

He sure deserves credit ..... i was higher on him than drafting Bender in the lottery and i still think he can play for the Cs.
But the comment here...... Like you are waiting for the second coming of Arvydas Sabonis. It's not impressive if you play against sunday league talent (like in that video)

Don't get your hope so high. Mickey looked like a defensive God in NBDL and I can assure you NBDL is not worse than adriatic league.

Kid used to remind me of Perk, now I see some Kevin McHale moves developing.

Sure wish we could cut/trade Young and make room for him on our roster.  Even to develop him for next year.  Playing overseas in a weak league doesn't seem optimal.

Do you guys have any real, rock solid arguments to back up those statements.
I find Adriatic league more competitive. It is producing solid NBA players for years and years in a row.
Also, as in basicaly any industry, players (employees) get paid more if they are better. Thats a bottom line to me. For example. Miro Bilan gets 300.000€ net for a year at Cedevita Zagreb. That is all guaranteed. He is a good, not great center.
I would like to hear some other argumented sentiments about this league comparison.
"The joy of the balling under the rims."

I was commenting on this particular game video.  He got to the rim with little resistance from the opposing team.  His play was solid but he wasn't having to create his own shots or fight hard for position in the post.  Okafor would have looked like Wilt against that team.  It is good that he's leading the league but I hope he is facing stiffer competition than that video shows.

Am I the only one that is not excited for this guy? He is a late first rounder, and look where one of those from last season are. Mainly I have questions as to how good his league really is, is it like a D2 league in the NCAA?

Agree.  He looks good within 3 feet of the basket against smaller players.

It is the same league that produced Nurkic and Jokic, and neither one had anything close to the same success at the same age.  So, extrapolating, he's probably a hall of famer.   ;)

Saric too, right? Prior to entering the draft i think he was playing in the same league

Just looked it up.  Saric was MVP of the league at essentially the same age.

Nurkic at the same age averaged 11 points and 6 rebounds playing 16 minutes a game.

Jokic was MVP of the Adriatic league at the same age.

MVP or bust Ante!

A frame that big, good footwork, decent athleticism and soft hands mean he has a floor that's NBA-level, backup to rotation. I think that's all we can take away from this for now.

I'm hopeful for more but who knows how he will fare once he hits the NBA.

there are a couple of good teams close to euroleague level but about 50% of the teams are a joke. ....

i think he has the tools to get 20mins but that s it. he is not turning into the european cousins because he dominates against teams from montenegro !

Yes. This is the first time we have drafted A guy in the slot that was predicted that I actually wanted.

#17 wanted Rodney Hood Took Young
#16 Wanted Hollis Jefferson Took Rozier
#6 Wanted Julius Randle (So did you) Smart
 #23 Wanted Zizic. Got Zizic.

So this one is on me if he doesn't pan out. Granted not a big deal if he flops at #23. Between him and Zubac one of them will be Good.

I think we took The right player here though.

That's a fun list KG. I also wanted Zizic at 23. It was between Zizic and Zubac for me. I loved Zubacs size.

I agree with Hood over Young at the time.
I wanted Portis over Rozier.
I was very wrong at 6. I loved Vonleh at the time. If trading up for embiid wasn't there. Im glad it wasn't Vonleh.
