I still think Rozier and KO should be traded for Noel. That puts depth chart as
IT/Smart/DJ
AB/Brown/Young or Hunter
Crowder/Green/JJ
Hordford/AJ/Bentil
Noel/Zeller/Mickey.
There would be nice minutes behind AB but no team pressure as Smart or Young/Hunter could also play minutes there if Brown has a bad match up.

 And right now Gerald Green is the better NBA player. That's the point.

Brown is already a better ball handler and rebounder.  Green is a better shooter.  Brown may be as good an NBA player as Green right now, and their career trajectories are headed in opposite directions.  No way Green should be taking minutes from Brown.

I've thought that a 3 wing lineup, IT, Green, Brown, Crowder, and Horford/Amir would be fun to watch.

If Brown gets minutes this year, it's going to be because he earned them.  That's pretty clearly how Stevens and Ainge like it.  There's also the issue of potentially boosting Green's trade value.  If nothing else, I'd expect Green to get minutes toward the end of the season after Brown hits the rookie wall.

The C's are in good shape now at the 3, but I believe JB will get minutes as a backup/small ball 4. That means he and Green can be in at the same time without the C's having to drag out TZ or JJ.

Hmm. Give minutes to the 19 year old prospect who can potentially be an all star and an intrigual part of this teams future who already has a higher bbiq and better feel for the game? Or give those minutes to a 30 year old journey man who has had one above average season amongst his ten year underwhelming career.

This is a very good point. With James Young's added muscle and seemingly improved play he might finally be a viable option as a larger wing. We've focused so much on the Hunter/Young roster cut debate that we missed the fact that Green might not be good enough for the C's to justify dumping a prospect, even underperforming ones like Hunter and Young.

If Green's hip injury continues to bother him that also increases his chances of being cut. He's no sure thing, we could easily see a repeat of the Perry Jones situation from last year. This team isn't afraid to lose some money if it means helping the roster long-term.
