That rumor seems TGTBT, but throw if Philly could get Rubio and Rozier plus Amir that's a nice package for Noel.

For the Celtics we lock up Horford and Noel and keep all are top flight wings and defenders. Plus it frees up room for Jackson and Even Nader.

 Noel
 Horford
 Crowder
 Bradley
 Thomas

 Olynyk
 Jonas
 Brown
 Smart
 Jackson

For this team depth and talent at the big positions Trump's Rozier as the third string point guard IMO.

I think they can get him for less than that. Besides, the Sixers are loaded up front--they don't want Amir. They need guards. Rozier and Hunter should do it. Noel's contract limits what they can get for him. I don't know what works with the trade checker.

I messed up the idea. If you didn't read the other thread it's a three team trade idea.

 Noel to Boston.
 Amir and Hunter to Minnesota
Rozier and Rubio to the 76ers.

 Wolves

 Town's
 Amir
 Wiggins
 Lavine
 Kris Dunn

 That's a really interesting five.

 Philly

 Okafor/Embiid
 Saric/Grant
 Simmons/Covington
 Stuaskas
 Rubio/Rozier

That's a solid nine man Rotation, three players with star potential.

 Celtics

 Noel
 Horford
 Crowder
 Bradley
 Thomas

I just love how we could have either Horford or Noel on the court at all times, and sometimes play them together.

I mean, sure, but I don't see why Minnesota does that unless Boston is also eating Nik Pekovic's contract, in which case no thanks. Rubio also isn't a fantastic fit next to Simmons. My guess is that if Rubio gets traded it'll be to the Kings.

I think we'd make that deal but only if we'd given up hopes of signing a big time FA next summer.

I don't think Philly makes the deal though. It's basically Noel for Rozier. Hunter is just another below par SG for them to go with the other 60 odd of those they have. Amir is a vet big that they really don't need. He doesn't complement the other bigs any better than Noel.

My prediction is that if Noel gets traded the main piece going to Philly is a wing. Philly need some decent 3+D wings to grow with Simmons. No idea who though, Ben McLemore could be an idea but only if Boogie was on the move, doesn't make sense otherwise. Terrence Ross isn't a 3+D guy but Philly could have some interest and Noel would fit well in Toronto. Another option would be trading him to Charlotte if they valued a package based around Jeremy Lamb.

It becomes more interesting if you think of a 3 team trade with Noel ending in Boston. If you say we would give up Rozier, Hunter, Zeller (trade would have to occur close to the deadline) in a package for him, where in the league needs that and has a wing to trade to Philly?

Washington has Porter or Oubre that could be interesting. They have Gortat and Mahinmi locked up long term so would they want Zeller as well?

Doubt it.

How does Rubio make sense for the Sixers?  If he had an outside shot, it would make sense to put him next to Simmons...  still, he and Simmons are both ball-dominant players.  Rozier is a great fit for them, on the other hand, whether as a backup or not.

Minnesota wants to make the playoffs, so they're going to strip away a position of strength and throw it on a rookie and a second-year player?

Boston gives up a starter in Amir and a rotation player - would you agree that Rozier is ready for that? - for Nerlens?  I've got him pegged as a ninth man specialist, though with plenty of upside.  Amir already is a big plus on both sides of the ball, quarterbacks the defense, and gives you leadership.  The ECF is a realistic goal for Boston - why would they undermine the prospect?

If T-Wolves are dumping Rubio to hand everything over to Dunn, why get Johnson for a year? - and in this scenario, that's basically all that they get.  If you're going to extend your rebuild with young guys, why get a vet?  Unless they desperately need to get rid of Rubio... doesn't sound likely.
