I messed up the idea. If you didn't read the other thread it's a three team trade idea.
Noel to Boston.
Amir and Hunter to Minnesota
Rozier and Rubio to the 76ers.
Doubt it.
How does Rubio make sense for the Sixers? If he had an outside shot, it would make sense to put him next to Simmons... still, he and Simmons are both ball-dominant players. Rozier is a great fit for them, on the other hand, whether as a backup or not.
Minnesota wants to make the playoffs, so they're going to strip away a position of strength and throw it on a rookie and a second-year player?
Boston gives up a starter in Amir and a rotation player - would you agree that Rozier is ready for that? - for Nerlens? I've got him pegged as a ninth man specialist, though with plenty of upside. Amir already is a big plus on both sides of the ball, quarterbacks the defense, and gives you leadership. The ECF is a realistic goal for Boston - why would they undermine the prospect?
If T-Wolves are dumping Rubio to hand everything over to Dunn, why get Johnson for a year? - and in this scenario, that's basically all that they get. If you're going to extend your rebuild with young guys, why get a vet? Unless they desperately need to get rid of Rubio... doesn't sound likely.
