But Cousins isn't one of the chuckers.

Cousins is another Derrick Coleman. Coleman had huge talent, there isn't much Coleman couldn't do, but he couldn't stop acting like a nitwit, until finally his time ran out.

The Kings of last year had enough talent to win 46-48 games. They needed someone to unite them, and lead by example, and Demarcus simply didn't show up.

Frankly, he needs someone to lead him.

Or a coach the team doesn't quit on

Weak minded, immature players quite on a coach. It's not like he's being asked to go to combat and risk his life. Leaders unite, and lead by example. They don't second guess strategy, unless they have a history of being a winner.

Of which he doesn't.

The coach remains if the team does well

Fran Fraschilla on Cousins-

I don't think they're going to be able to play Cousins as much as they have because he's been dreadful defensively. Quite frankly, Cousins has been the guy that has shown no propensity to want to guard anybody and that's pretty evident when you watch the tape.

Between the way the Olympic game is officiated and the relative poor fit of Team USA with a bunch of individuals with no real team, I can't imagine a worse environment for Cousins to succeed in than that. It's hardly fair to judge him based on this little bit rather than his years of NBA experience.

This guys ENTIRE career is people making excuses for a poor environment around him...Gimme a break--at some point, it's HIM.

It's not as though others in the same environment constantly act like a child throwing tantrums as Cousins does.

Is there a worse organization in the NBA than Sacramento? He *has* been in a poor environment.

No, they just complacently collect a paycheck and show no passion at all. Losing doesn't bother them.

It's like calling a whiny child "passionate".

Doesn't matter where he plays, be it Sacramento or team USA, his team up or down, the fact is that the Cousins temper tantrum is only a call away.

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
I once believed I would take AD over Cousins, but my mindset has changed.

Cousins is a monster. He can dribble from full court to finishing with a tomahawk dunk with a behind the back shake and bake on another big men.

You can't stop him. Only Cousins can stop himself.

He's one of the only big man who can consistently knock down 3's, hit mid range shots, dribble, pass, defend, and most importantly still one of the most dominant low post scorers in the game...

If he had the right team, he could certainly be the go to guy.

I would be satisfied if we got Cousins, but I would cry tears of joy for days if we got AD. Cousins may have more potential talent, but AD has already shown to be a much better teammate and dominant defensive force.

I also wouldn't be afraid that our entire team might unravel if we got AD instead of Cousins.

Luis Scola shooting a hook shot from 3 feet from the hoop against 285 pound Cousins, like he's not even there. That just shouldn't happen.

Roy, you Missed the key point. Others in the identical situation have not behaved the same way. Somewhere, somehow cousins' behavior is also his responsibility as well.
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.
