53-29.  I think that adds up to 82.  We lose a few more in March than one might expect as it takes a little while to get Boogie Cousins acclimated after our deadline acquisition, but we get rolling when t counts and make it all the way to the finals before the Warriors defeat us.

Ignore all the silliness after the record.  I called 48 wins last year too -- I need to go to Vegas, apparently.

Bam!

I overshot by a game in the other thread but since this is the "Bragging rights" thread, I'll take it.  ;D

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
52-30, alone in third, and 2nd round exit.

I knew I made a prediction in one of these threads.TP libermaniac for finding this one.

Close, but I was wrong about the upper level quality of the ECF and apparently 53 wins gets you the #3 seed. Hopefully I am very wrong about our 2nd round exit and we make a strong push into the ECF!

Everyone is in the 50's range so I'll play devils advocate and say the injury bug will hit some of our key players for longer stretches this season.

47-35
5th in the East

Well I was kinda right  :o
ok fine

I predicted 51 wins 5 game loss in the ECF.

My co-worker predicted 53 wins and game 7 loss in the 2nd Round.

I predicted 50-55 wins. Adding Horford increased their wins about as expected for most. We didn't expect them to win the East over the Cavs, however. The sports media seems to be treading lightly on this. I think the Cavs will have a tough time repeating.

To get to the elite 60 win level, I think Ainge has to add another scorer and a rebounder up front. I'd like to see Zizic and Yabusele brought up now from the D league for the playoffs. I see the Cavs just added a big from the D league.

Neither Zizic or Yabusele are under contract, and can't be "brought up" from the D League.  This isn't baseball.

52-30

Horford will help a lot, but it's not easy to win more than 50 games so much more than 50 is really tough to predict

[dang it], I was off by 1 game! I'll have to keep that in mind and add 1 win to my guess in the inevitable 2018 bragging rights thread
I'm bitter.

To aid everyone in next year's predictions.  Win total increases the past 3 years:

'14-15: +15 from prior year (25 to 40 wins)
'15-'16:  +8 from prior year (40 to 48 wins)
'16-'17:  +5 from prior year (48 to 53 wins)
'17-'18: ???  Trend would suggest about 56 wins .... +3

Not only did many people nail the exact number, but even more impressively, it looks to me like the answers are pretty much centered around the right number too.

We come off looking like a pretty smart and reasonable bunch, after the fact. I think it's a testament to the quality of people who frequent the board. And, I think it's a pretty good defense against the accusation that we are all pie-eyed homers who overvalue our talent/coaching.
