If one had to be included in a deal for a superstar, which would you be more inclined to let go of?

Brown, without question.

He is a LONG way from contributing.

Agree. Now is the perfect time to trade Crowder. I really like him, but let's be honest: he was a throw in on the Rondo trade.  His value is at an all time high. Brown has much greater upside, and is 7 years younger.

You could argue that Brown's value is at an all-time high too.

Definitely Crowder.  Brown has too much potential to be a throw in like Crowder was.  And I don't care if Crowder is more polished.  You don't trade the kind of potential away like Brown has if you don't have to.

Neither.
Keep the Brooklyn picks and wait for Philly to cave.

Neither. I don't want to watch another season of being 1 deep at SF.

If one has to go, definitely Crowder.  Crowder's peaked, Brown's ceiling is higher. Need young guys like Brown to build a long term contender, to take the reigns when your superstars start to decline. The Spurs model.

The question is, which do you value more?

I'd trade Brown because if you are acquiring a superstar then you are trying to win and Crowder will help significantly more than Brown.  There is no point in acquiring a superstar and then building for the future.  Makes no sense.
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - D. Daniels, Mitchell, G. Wallace, Melo, Noah
Deep Bench - Korver, Turner

Convince the opposing GM to take Bradley instead.
Isaiah, you were lightning in a bottle.

that depends on how far out the future is, doesnt it? i think within 3 years, maybe two, brown will be better than crowder. all the stars talked about so far in trades are around 27 years old. they still have a shelf life of 5-6 years.

in 4-5 years, if we had given up brown to keep crowder, the celtics will be far worse off.
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

TP. Crowder is far from an untouchable player in a vacuum, but outside of a trade for Butler or another three, he's untouchable for us given our context. He's just too critical to our success and we're so thin at the three that he's virtually untouchable for us if we want to stay competitive this year.

Bradley, on the other hand, is pretty expendable with out combination of Smart, Rozier, Brown, and Crowder.
