Why do you guys got all caught up in every half rumor that shows up in your twitter feed? Or why do people start blaming the front office like "They said we were gonna get Blake Griffin! I'm so tired of being disappointed!"

Wanna avoid disappointment? Take every Twitter rumor with a grain of salt, don't jump into it head first, and expect any trade we make to be one you didn't hear first from DangerVart or the sports hub guy.

Not everyone is as smart as you.

There's an awful lot of smoke out there right now on a Griffin deal coming from different directions.

TP for the laugh.  I came into this thread to dispute the old saying when it comes to the Celtics.

Ultimately I really hope there's no basis in the Westbrook rumors, and some basis for the Griffin rumors.  It's too bad, to me, there isn't more "smoke" for a Cousins trade.

At the end of the day, journalism these days is about getting clicks, garnering attention, and speculation.  The Celtics are known buyers, and more importantly have the assets to purchase most any player/contract.  Every potential seller will automatically get matched up with the Celtics, so I think that's all we're seeing.

Nah, that's not how how most millenials do it these days. Good luck getting them to think past the 140th character :P

There's usually someone lying about being allergic to cigarettes, and threatening to call the cops?

Reading Deadmik3's tweets, the deal for Griffin is going down because Ainge finally agreed to throw in the Nets'18. Doc wasn't going to do the deal for just two players. He thinks Griffin has at least verbally agreed to sign with the Celtics.

Apparently I don't need twitter to get myself in a whirl about an imminent deal.  This means I will now be on CB all night hitting refresh every 5 minutes waiting for news.  Gee, thanks a lot.

So, according to this "source", who are the players again?

*EDIT* - Nevermind, I see it on the other thread...Bradley, Johnson and the 18 Net Pick

Basically, a 2 for 1 now with potential payday in a year and a half.  If Griffin has agreed to sign with the Celtics, sounds possible.

Why ask a question you know the answer to?  If one is prone to clinical levels of depression, anger or anxiety then it's probably good advice to avoid getting wrapped up in these "rumors" and the probable disappointment that follows.  For everyone else, "hope", even if delusional, is exciting, and the subsequent disappointment only lasts a few minutes.  I'll gladly take a day following a rumor that goes nowhere over a day of no news.  It's that human thing that breathes life into social media -- i think it's catching on.

Twitter and RealGM fake rumors are popular for the same reason people bought this nonsense:

Folks are bored and they just want to believe.
