Here is Deveney on CSNNE.
Wow, after all the build-up, he said absolutely nothing.
Nothing is happening this weekend. Or probably next weekend. Or any time in between. But I am more convinced than ever that I need to start a blog which is all clickbait, all the time.
I really want something to happen. I want this team to get better. I've seen a lot of fair proposals for Griffin/Cousins/whomever. But we get sucked into this every time. This year's draft. Last year's draft. The year before's draft. The trade deadlines. Etc.
A broken Twitter might be right twice a day, but I think we're going to have a lot of disappointed people on Monday.
Mike
Pretty much. All the incessant hyperbole about all the "assets" we've accumulated, and how they assure a return to greatness.
And then, the reality sets in every draft night, every deadline.
At least we got Horford.
100% agree. Any time you are trying to get your news 'before it breaks' you have to understand that it comes with a grain of salt.
The other thing is, contrary to popular belief around here -- we are not entitled to being a contender just because Ainge has made some nice trades in the past.
This is still competition, after all. Making a trade with Ainge is like defending a really good jump shooter. You are going to play it a little different than the other guys on the court, based on his history of nailing his opportunities. That's why, in my opinion, we HAVE to be willing to overpay if we intend on trading for a stud player. Other GM's get leery the moment the phone rings.
Don't forget, Ainge's job is improving the team's outlook. These twit's job is getting you to look at what they write, day after day after day. Avoiding disappointment is easy, just don't be so gullible.
