Marcus Smart is going to be one of the best guards in the league.   His shot just has to catch up.
So will James Young, once he dusts off that Gary Payton impersonation he's been keeping in his back pocket.

The difference is Marcus is already great.  His shot just hasn't been falling.

He also can't finish nor get to the paint. He has a bad first step...No idea how he is  working out in the Olympics.

Just heard mike from Watertown on the radio, just my observation but he sounded very unsure of himself as expected...

Yeah it was a terrible interview. He didn't answer any of Kauf's questions, and it seemed in the middle of the interview Mike realized, "Edited.  Profanity and masked profanity are against forum rules and may result in discipline..... I may have taken this too far."

Because they see him as a great player.

When Sporting News says "soon", what exactly do they mean by that?

I'd expect to see some kind of move before the season starts, but probably a really low-level move to consolidate some assets.  Like maybe trading Young for a future 2nd or something.

We have too many players and not enough roster spots if we want to bring on the 2nd rounders.

I could still see us trading a package around a Brooklyn pick or Marcus Smart for Okafor (though I don't think either really makes sense for Philly).  I wouldn't count on us trading for another all-star, but I could see us making a move for someone like Rudy Gay or maybe something more significant before the deadline in February.  If Griffin or Westbrook gives the official word they are planning on leaving in free agency, I could see us making a move.  But with Durant choosing the Warriors, I don't think anyone is really competing with them anytime soon so I guess it just depends on how this team looks as the season progresses and whether or not it seems wise to go all-in on guys who can help you finish in 2nd place.

Whew!  For a moment I thought you said "Rudy Gay"!

If Griffin or Westbrook gives the official word they are planning on leaving in free agency, I could see us making a movie.

A movie would be cool, but maybe they could also try to sign one of them.  ;)

But with Durant choosing the Warriors, I don't think anyone is really competing with them anytime soon so I guess it just depends on how this team looks as the season progresses and whether or not it seems wise to go all-in on guys who can help you finish in 2nd place.

There are no guarantees - Durant, for instance, has missed significant time in his career with a serious foot injury. That's why, as the old NBA saw goes, they play the games.

The 1975 Celtics were a great team, too...

No I don't think that's it. Danny was trying to make an analogy here. Whales- ocean - fish - Pelicans' diet - Pelicans - New Orleans Pelicans - Anthony Davis

AD to Boston confirmed.

Maybe he's saying he's here to catch a big fish--or two.

Exactly how I took the interview as well... It made me cringe!

I honestly want Griffin and Westbrook less and less the more this goes on. Especially if it means  parting ways with Smart or Brown.

I hope Ainge doesn't do anything too stupid here to appease the fans when we are sitting pretty good as it stands.

When did Ainge ever make a trade because of pressure from the fans? Any examples?

Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.
