That's who I was going to say.  Kobe wasn't clutch... he missed greater percentage of game winners than most.  Bird was clutch but he got to take all the final shots because he was Bird.  Horry was a role player who time and time again hit daggers.

that's because Kobe was such a fierce competitor that he took shots that other players would have not taken just to protect their shooting percentage.

Paul Pierce was pretty clutch folks.   Guy has ice running for his veins, not as well known or lauded as the others but he was  just if not more clutch.   Dennis Johnson comes to mind as well.

...and also a selfish ball hog who always wanted to be the hero.  Even when teammates were open for easier shots, Kobe would always jack something up.

Three most clutch players I ever saw was Bird, Magic and Jordan. None come close to these three.

In another thread I posted that Kobe Bryant is the clutchest player ever, and another poster demurred. I thought it an interesting topic for its own thread.

I am not sure if anyone despises the Lakers and Kobe as much as I do, but now that he is retired can we continue to deny his greatness? Is he not arguably the most clutch player ever?

When Kobe Bryant was at the height of his game, and the ball was passed to him with the game on the line and the clock running down, how many of you could truly say your heart did not sink?

It's not Kobe. Someone run the numbers but I'm sure his shooting % at the end of games was not impressive.
ya, just because he was more than willing to take big shots doesn't mean he was clutch
I trust Danny Ainge

From the 2000's on it is Lebron.  Everyone always focuses on his misses because he is so polarizing, but Lebron has made a significant number of clutch shots.  A very significant number and has done so at a very high percentage.  The article posted on the first page supports that position.

Sorry, he is not more clutch than Stephan Curry.

Here is the 14/15 All Clutch team.

http://www.si.com/nba/2015/01/07/clutch-players-nba-mike-conley-monta-ellis-lebron-james-anthony-davis-pau-gasol

Here are the 15/16 stats from 82 games.  http://www.82games.com/1516/CSORT11.HTM

Of the guys with at least 30 FGA, Wade, Curry, and James had the three highest FG%, though Lebron outrebounded Curry and Wade combined.  Lebron out blocked Curry and Wade combined.  Lebron had more assists and less turnovers than Curry.  Curry did get more steals and as mentioned shot better (including a lot better from 3).  But that is a bit of an aberration as James was actually a much better 3 point shooter in clutch time in 14/15 and they were about the same in overall FG% (James still eclipsed Curry in the other stats as well, except steals).

Look I get it is fun to hate on Lebron, but he is the most consistent clutch player since 2000 and it really isn't all that close.

He also gets to the rim way more than other players in clutch situations.  Most guys turn into jump shooters but he does not.

MR. "I am going to tell you where I am going to shoot the game winner in your face at" Larry Legend..

Back when defenders could Mug, close line, gut punch and body slam you.. Back when you played with a bloody mouth through most of the game..  Back when shooting a bo was considered good defense..

Back when good defenders were allowed to play good defense..

In the Clutch.. Clock on nothing and the game is on the line.

Larry Bird , Jordan..
Anything after Jordan to me is garbage because the league has done everything in their power to cripple good defenders..
