If I hadn't looked it up, I would've sworn Nader was at least 6'8".  He plays big.

He measured 6'5 barefoot at the Portsmouth Invitational, so not even close to 6'8.

he does look big out there tho.

Compared to the rest of our team, I guess. The biggest dude we have is 6'9 Ben Bentil and he may be undersized for an NBA PF.

Just finished watching game v PHX. Nader was our best player that game. He is very decisive. Knows exactly what he wants to do every time he gets the ball. No BS. I hope he makes it in the NBA.

Right.  I'm not saying that he's actually 6'8".  I'm saying that he plays more like he's 6'8" than 6'5".

He's a pogo stick.  Sort of narrow shoulders, long arms, and a little gumby-like.  Sorry, that's not scientific, but he's a unique player and I guess it's just a hunch.  I was just waiting for him to sky above the rim and then hyper-extend an elbow trying to catch himself on the way down.  He constantly has his head and his long arms up around the rim trying to catch lobs.  Not for faint-of-heart.

Narrow shoulder are not an advantage in a basketball though.  More back can mean more power and place to store muscle, carve space and protect the ball if you place them between the man the ball.

That being said there have been terrible players who had broad shoulders and good ones that had narrow ones, too.   But a lot of the good ones have the broad shoulders and used them to their advantage.

I was laughing when Nader and every other guy on our SL roster blew by Bender last night like he was in quicksand.  Elite athlete.  Excellent lateral quickness.  Can guard all 5 positions.  HAHAHAH!  Every time I watch Bender play will be like Christmas, and watching Kris Dunn tear up the league is going to be torture for McDonagh.

Yeah, I broke my general prohibition against watching summer league, after hearing how awful the Euromistake has looked.

But wait a minute, summer league doesn't mean a thing......or does it? Which is it Bo?

The only thing I know for sure about Summer League is that it means as little or as much as each individual person needs it to for the purposes of whatever argument they're making about a player they like or dislike.

"Stash" is not the correct term, he will still count as a roster spot so essentially it means he makes the team. 

The "stashed" players overseas have decent contracts with their teams but the NBA teams still holds their rights.  This is generally a mutual arrangement such that the player can make some decent money, get experience and still have the possibility of making it back to the NBA.

You think the C's are going to use on of their 15 spots on him? I would be completely shocked if that happened.

They used a roster spot on JYoung the last two years! Why not a guy like Nader who is twice the player and yet to step on the court in the NBA.  He's quick, can shoot, has good handles and frankly has shown more than any of this years picks!  Think he has a great shot at making the team as backup SF!

He's a Domestic Draft and Stash Player ala Josh Huestis of OKC, so Boston will not use a roster spot for him this year.

Nader is solid...type of guy the Spurs would draft.

They might have hit a home run with Chriss though. If Chriss hits his ceiling and they whiff on Bender, it's still a good draft.

I don't know how you eval these things.  If your #4 never becomes a rotation player but your #8 is an all-star, maybe it's a wash?  Sacramento is the real loser, right?  Papagiannis and Labissierre for Chriss is... questionable.

They went for 2 really raw, but high ceiling picks. I think realistically, if you can end up with one All-Star in your draft it was a good one. Bender was a gamble and nobody will tell you he was a sure thing, so they took a risk hoping that one of the two would pan out into something special.

That is how I look at it. It's entirely subjective, so I'm not saying my view is right.

You weren't on this board before the draft, were you? There were plenty of people turning Bender into the Second Coming.

I've been a member since 2007, but I only started posting after a bunch of years off back in like April (The Bruins do not deserve my time anymore). I only have the time to follow one Boston team at a time.... I am aware that some people thought he was the next great big man, but nobody here has seen anything outside of a few YouTube highlights. I had no opinion on him.

It's hard to have a legitimate opinion on him based on You Tube - unless you've got a scout you've respected and coached against for three decades telling you two things:

1 He's exactly the kind of "I know something no one else does" draft pick Danny Ainge loves to make.

and

2. He'll never play a meaningful minute in the NBA.

Chilling stuff.

He's been great, and his former teammate, Georges Niang, has been turning heads, as well.  I was really hoping that the latter would not have been drafted so that we could get him, but Larry got his hands on him.  Typical.  As someone said in the thread devoted to Indiana's acquisition of Thaddeus Young, which I don't understand nor agree with, but whatever, "Now there's a steal by Bird..." Ugh. 

People compared Yabusele to Draymond Green, which I don't understand, lol, but if anyone has a chance at being a guy like that, at least on offense, imo, it's Niang.  Fran Fraschilla (I know, I know, lol ) compared him to Boris Diaw, and Niang is probably more Diaw than Green, but still.
