I seem to recall someone posting a link to an article sometime back of a poll of NBA players who ranked teams which had the most whiners.  You know the type.  The ones who question every every call (or non-call) that don't go the player's way.  They hold their hands up in the air, argue with the ref and jog back over the half court line (only if they feel like it) to join the rest of the teammates trying to play defense short 1 player.  I call it the Lebron Syndrome.

IIRC the Clippers were rated as having the largest collection of those suffering from Lebron Syndrome.  Well, let me tell you as someone living on the Best Coast  ;) who has seen plenty of Clippers games, Griffen is at a whole different level than the rest of the whiners (e.g. Paul) on the Clips.  In many ways he puts Lebron to shame so I may need to re-name the condition Griffen Syndrome.

Also, despite the gaudy stats, Griffen is self centered/self absorbed and often content if he makes 1 splash play a night posterizing an opponent so the play gets aired and re-played on ESPN over and over.  Doesn't matter if the Clips lose, he got on SportsCenter.

I wouldn't touch Griffen with a 10 foot pole no matter how talented he is.  Besides, do you guys on the Least Coast want to be subjected to endless Kia car commercials if he were to be acquired.  Be thankful you don't (and hopefully won't).

Umm, we kind of already are in regards to both Kia and State Farm commercials - it's called the NBA playoffs ;). Ugh.

Are you prepared for those commercials during the off-season and on every channel though?

Meh, I hate the ads, but they're everywhere, anyway.  Ugh.

Griffin and Pierce to Boston.

Gay, crowder, Olynyk and mclemore to clippers. Plus the pick they moved for Jeff green.

Amir, rozier, and hunter to Kings.

Picking up Griffin & Pierce and losing Amir, Crowder, RJ, Rozier, KO shows us MINUS 19 wins?

well we did lose half a team there lol

I don't think there's any trades about to happen this summer. I will believe it when I see it.

I'd rather have Cousins. Really don't see Blake as a fit in Boston so I kind of hope this isn't true
How does Griffin not fit?
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

I'd also like clarification, lol. He's actually kind of a perfect next to Horford.

I don't see Blake being a good fit but of course no mater what I say your gonna say the opposite so there's really no point in explaining

Especially since Horford's talking like he's OK playing the 5.

I am at the point where I would be happy bringing in Okafor or doing nothing until somebody specifically asks for a trade. We are in a great situation - no reason to screw over our franchise for a very good, but not great player.

It's a discussion board... Isn't debate part of the point?

I noticed that in his interview too. I think he'll play the 4 or the 5 based on what's best for the team - he just seems like that kind of guy who will sacrifice personal preference if it helps the team get wins.

It wouldn't be advisable for us to give up Crowder, Amir, Bradley, another core bench player for either Blake or Cousins.  We would essentially be gutting half of our roster, the bulk of Stevens' system, and our team chemistry. If we give up our 2018 Nets pick and Smart for Noel, that would be the best case scenario for us. We already are an elite perimeter defensive team and with the addition of Noel we also become elite in the paint defensively.

IT- Rozier
AB- Hunter
Crowder- Jerebko
Horford- Amir
Noel- Zeller/Olynyk

Thats definitely the second seed in the east, and is definitely capable of beating Cleveland. I still think we could use a combo SG/SF player off the bench, but that's it.

So way over pay for a defense center but don't slightly overpay for a top 10 player.

How is the 2018 Nets pick and Smart (Even Rozier is probably better than him now) overpaying for Noel ??? Smart is a redundant piece after having Bradley and Rozier and the 2018 Nets pick likely won't hold as much value.

I'd rather not gut our whole roster and trade for an overrated player like Griffin. Probably not Cousins either. For Davis I would do it.

I guess debate isn't, reading and laughing at the 10 Year Curse thread and hearing from the "I'm butthurt by people who don't agree with my optimism" crowd.

As for Horford, I like that addition more every day.

Why don't we just throw in Crowder and IT? You may not value Smart very much, but he is worth at least as much as the expiring Noel. There is no way we 'throw-in' a BKN pick with Smart just to bring in a slightly better version of Amir. And then there is the issue of paying Noel next year - does $25M+/yr excite you?

Preposterous.  Indiana is definitely superior.  They had an excellent summer and Myles Turner will make a huge leap this year (likely All-Star).  Toronto would probably better than us based on the fact that they have size and strength that outmatches ours.  Don't forget that our team cannot rebound as currently constructed.  We gave up the 5th most 2nd chance points last year with Sully.  Without a suitable replacement for him we are going to be in real trouble.  Noel doesn't really provide that either.

One more thing - Evan Turner was a crucial player for us because he could create his own shot off the dribble.  Who will replace that?  Rozier can help, but not close to ET's level yet.

If anything I think we improved two areas (defense and big man shooting), but have dropped in two areas (rebounding and players creating their own shots).  I don't see how this means we've leaped over Toronto, let alone reaching Indiana.
