The radio guy I don't buy.

Smith, however, is a decent source.

Smith who? Have anyone else corroborated this rumor yet? Hope there's some truth to it. Not sure how I feel about gutting the roster and missing out on the 2017 draft, though.

For those who are unaware, Keith Smith is a moderator on RealGM and is currently attending Pro Scout School in Vegas where he is ostensibly talking to various league sources:

You are no longer black, or brown, or yellow, or red! You are now GREEN, you are light GREEN, or dark GREEN!

Wow, this guy might actually be legit. I saw other notable NBA sources, like Steve Kyler, were also attending that Scout School in Vegas.

Are we sure that this wasn't just an exercise that was part of that Scout School, though? Kyler had a similar mix up with ppl about Hayward and Boston earlier today, too.
Recovering Joe Skeptic, but inching towards a relapse.

There also remains the possibility that machinations are leaked to the media to detract from the real target. GMs are shifty folk and rarely, if ever, do I believe "sources". Speculation does little for me. Cold hard cash in my hand approach.

I want to attend scout school.
Too bad I'm not there. I could just pull the guy to the side and say"knock it off, tell me whats up" and then post it on here. Or everyone would already be on love with me and how I picked(years ahead) Brandon Ingram and Towns before any other scouts.

I think the headline got scrambled.
Should have read
"Large Celtic gaining traction on move"

this place is like a donkey with a carrot on its head.

More like Charlie Brown and Lucy, starring Wyc, DA and the media as Lucy.

Yeah okay. The second you did that, no one would ever tell you anything important again. And why would they tell some guy they don't know the 411 anyway?

You guys need to settle yourselves. A few people with connections saying "there's been significant traction on a big deal" is NOT a reason to start thinking Ainge has the chance to get Griffin or Cousins or whoever.

Maybe he does, maybe he doesn't. All depends on what the one guy on the other end of the phone says. And some jabrone on twitter probably won't know that first.

Seriously. Take it all with a huge spoonful of salt.

Cousins, but i think the appeal to ainge is that he can get Blake without giving up the 2018 nets pick

Is it a coincidence we see all these "insiders" on twitter at the same time? Or are they really hearing legit stuff?
I could very well see the Hawks... starting Taurean Prince at the 3, who is already better than Crowder, imo.

you vs. the guy she tells you not to worry about

I feel they are trolling for followers. I believe it when I see it. We have been burned by too many rumors lately.

The other dude doesn't (really) need to troll though. He has 10.5k.

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
Keith Smith is 'Smitty- on the Celtics RealGM forums.
Of all the 'sauces' on RealGM, he actually works with NBA staff and knows actual team employees/staff.

"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

No.  It's just fun to them to get people all worked up.   Sometimes they are just trying to get twitter followers.

Doubt anything happens.

Lots of fake insiders on RealGM's forums as well.  I've yet to see a single one of them correctly predict something.  There's legends of this happening and a couple of these fake insiders vouche for each other, but nobody can actually verify any of these legends with evidence.
