thanks and goodluck

this is what I was thinking too.

Nets will offer him a lot of playing time to improve his value and he'd offer NO a solid rebounder and scorer to put with Davis

Pelicans have no room to sign him.  The Nets do if their RFA offers are matched.  Otherwise, nope.

Sullinger looked so promising his rookie year. If you watch his rookie highlights, you'll see how much skinnier and how much more nimble he was then compared to this year. He was my favorite player on the Celtics that year because he seemed not only like he was going to be good but he also had a desire to improve. It's a shame that it all went downhill from there.

The Celtics didn't blow the pick at 21. Sully was seen as a lottery level talent who could have potentially panned out very well if he put the work in, but he didn't. Sullinger's lack of progression was more on his work ethic than it was talent (unlike say Fab Melo). Sully's panned out better than half the guys that were selected before him and only four guys that were picked after him turned out better than him (Draymond Green, Khris Middleton, Jae Crowder, and Will Barton), and three of those four guys panned out on teams that weren't drafted by them (Middleton, Barton, and Crowder). Not to mention the one guy who we thought the Celtics might regret taking Sully over didn't last in the NBA (Perry Jones III).

I wish Sully all the best. I just wish his best could have been on the Celtics.

He had some game.  Turner and Sullinger both made pretty big impacts on this team in the regular season.  Hopefully losing them doesn't hurt too much.

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
I would have loved to see him at his full potential, but we got four solid years out of a #21 pick - not bad at all. Of course the option to re-sign him was still there, but Danny [wisely] didn't want to tie up big money / multiple years on a player that doesn't at least have all-star potential.

Sully was one of the only players to show up in last year's Cavs series; it's unfortunate his tenure had to end on such a sour note this season. Thanks Sully for your hard work out there - I hope you can get your self in shape for not only your NBA career, but also your personal health.

I've been as vocal as many around here about how it was time to move on from Sullinger but absolutley want to wish him well wherever he ends up. He brought stable production in a transitional stage of the and helped turn us into the team that we are today.

Cheers Sullinger.
