Anyone else have an issue with trading our franchise for avid steroid users? I think westbrook is this. Isaiah is basically westbrook without the roids.   Same with Lebron.  I really don't want these guys here.

I also think it's pathetic how the media hypes these guys up when they are clearly using.  As long as there is money in it.

Russell Westbrook is a complete jerk. I won't root for players like that even if it gets us a championship.

Same goes for dwade. The media are Edited.  Profanity and masked profanity are against forum rules and may result in discipline.s for the way they have us trading our hard work and franchise for some of these guys.  We aren't trading our franchise for dwade.

The celtics have a great medical staff.  There's a difference there.  Some of these other guys are using.  I honestly don't think the celtics would or should touch a guy like westbrook with a 10 foot pole.  Same with Lebron.  Even Howard.  Or dwade.  No to all of them.

The players they target are usually something else.

For once, we agree, I would never want LeBron on this team.   I do think he has used PEDs.  But I dislike him more for the egocentric personality and penchant for drama.

While I have no idea if LeBron "uses," this is what you look like when you are a big man who tirelessly works towards keeping your body lean and healthy WITHOUT using drugs/HGH:

How do those compare to these:

Bear in mind that Malone has 1-2% body fat in the above pictures (Stockton talks in his autobiography about their annual competition for the lowest body fat percentage and mentions them going as low as 1-2%) and has about a one inch height advantage over LeBron.

I have no idea if Lebron used PEDs and there's no proof that he did. I did see him play before he was drafted and he was a huge man-child back then. So if he was using, he must have been also using back then because he hasn't dramatically changed his body shape versus other athletes.

There are enough reasons to dislike Lebron, Westbrook or any player without making up unfounded accusations. We're Celtics fans. We're better than that...or at least we should be.

I read these myths like steroids don't help nba athletes.  A huge majority are using them.  They just have this stuff down to a science now. Some use it way more than others.  Some don't.  Westbrook is built on steroids. So is lebron.

STeroids aren't just about muscle growth although some players use it more for that which gives them actual advantages in games. It also helps their explosiveness and everything in between.

It gives some players a huge advantage and just says what kind of people some of these guys are imo.    Not the type of players i want on this team.

I'm sure there have been celtics who do it over the years too but the celtics seem to trend towards other types of players.

Lebron was probably using all the way back to highschool honestly.

Lebron just does not strike me as a guy with great character. Do you really think players like this weren't approached by people very early on?

We do not see similar before/after pictures for physical specimens like Karl Malone. Here is Karl at Louisiana Tech:

I think lebron has been using for years.  He's just using more and got the formula where he wants it with supposed "doctors".

HGH is a form of medicine in a way if prescribed correctly. It's still mainly cheating and giving himself an unfair advantage in his case.

he's been connected since he was very young.

It's not like baseball where these guys were getting totally out of control not knowing what they were doing.  Lebron knows what he's doing and how to cover it up.  So do the doctors selling him the stuff.

Westbrooks face and jaw is not from weight lifting and neither is Lebrons.  Neither is Blake Griffin.  A lot of players are like that.  It just seems like the norm so mcuh in the nba it isn't that noticeable.

It's not from just being an athlete and playing basketball either. It's HGH.

...shakes head...

Lebron was 18 when he was drafted. Malone in that picture is 21. There's generally a huge difference between those ages in muscle development. If you're going to do a comparison, make sure the guys are comparable ages.

This is Lebron when he was still 17 - http://www.hoopsvibe.com/images/stories/Lebron%20high%20school%205.png. He's huge for that age. There's absolutely nothing abnormal about his adding muscle mass in his 20s and 30s. In fact, it would be exceptionally surprising if he didn't. Heck, Jae Crowder as more muscle development since high school than Lebron does. I don't hear anyone here accusing him of doping.

When there's a shred of evidence then feel free to accuse someone. Until then, be better than that.

Karl Malone is a bad example.  He was probably on HGH himself.  Bird not so much lol.

Paul Pierce is also not a steroid user.  Rondo maybe.  Kind of doubt it though. Same with KG.  just super well conditioned.

Players I think that are using usually there is a change in their facial structure.  Even Turkoglu who got caught.  He might not be noticeable but there is that change.

Rondo has some of that but I don't know.

Karl Malone I can believe he actually just worked that hard and had a great workout mixed with lifting.

Lebron I doubt it.  Same with Westbrook.
