Maybe if he drops hints to Utah he's bailing, they will cash in on him before the trade deadline, but I wouldn't break the bank to get him if we can just sign him. This team as-is should win 55 games next year. We'll be a player in free agency for sure as long as we don't get hit with injuries and have a surprisingly bad season. As things stand now we'll have, what, $50m or so at the end of the next season? That's a max player and another decent contract.Note: I'm using Spotrac numbers and having trouble making heads or tails of them. http://www.spotrac.com/nba/boston-celtics/cap/2017/Mike

He would definitely sign here in free agency. There is zero point in giving anything up for him. See how next year shakes out first. If we get the number one pick in the draft for instance and there is a true superstar at the top, getting Hayward would be a better move. If not then maybe you try and trade for someone better.

We're $50 million under the luxury tax cutoff. These figures don't seem to account for any of our draft picks this season. Can't tell much about next season because the cap is not known yet.
op 5-7 SF in the league in Jae Crowder and Jaylen Brown as a rookie playing the same position as Haywood.

I could very well see the Hawks... starting Taurean Prince at the 3, who is already better than Crowder, imo.

As safe a bet as any: Hayward will be a Celtic this time next year. Do not be surprised if Shelvin Mack joins him. He's a nice backup PG. This is the Stevens/Butler connection at work. We gotta keep the man happy, and what better way than giving him his boys from Butler?Under Stevens, the sky is the limit for Hayward. I would bank on him finally being an all-star.Add another big to our core of Horford, Hayward, Bradley and Thomas, and I think we've got ourselves a championship contender.
