Haven't seen him play, but from what I'm hearing so far, Kris Dunn is lighting it up on both ends of the court

Looks to be a special player!

Which is why Ainge is a moron.

No, Ainge is not a moron.
Dunn is 22. Brown is 19.

Kris Dunn finished tonight with 27 points, five rebounds, two assists and four steals (not to mention seven fouls!)

Dude is definately gonna make an impact in his first season

Funny you should mention that. Someone on NBA Central is trolling us for not picking Dunn at #3

Hopefully, Danny we'll get the last laugh!  8)

Because players get better as they get in their 20s.

And his team lost, and he was a -10.
I watched some of the game, he wasn't exactly good on defense.

Better let James Young know about that.

Why does this matter?

Because there are lots of 'special' people on here who think that age is the only thing that matters in basketball, and that a 19 year old is always better then a 22 year old no matter what.

Dont you know?  Jaylen Brown is WAY more valuable then Lebron James.  Brown is only 19 and Lebron is like 30.  Sure Lebron might be a multi time MVP but hes 30!!!

Brown is only 19 and he can dunk, so imagine how good hell be in 10+ years...he'll be sooo much better them lebron!!!

Just like how Okafor is apparenrly more valuable then a 26/12/3 Demarcus Cousins - because duhhh hes only 20!!!

Lol anytime i forget what the term "irrational" means i come on here and read some comments.  Always helps to remind me!

^ I just can't understand Ainge's rationale for choosing Brown over Dunn. I really can't. I'm trying to come up with one reason why he would make that decision, and like you crimson, I had Brown as a (distant) second option. It just makes no sense to me.

As long as they have the skills and drive, etc., to succeed, sure, but like tazzmaniac said - look at James Young.  When he came out of school people rated him higher than Rodney Hood, for example, because he was an 18 year old left-hander with a superior wingspan (woo) and, supposedly, a great jump shot, while Hood was an ancient (sarcasm) 21 years old ::) who was also a southpaw, in addition to being taller, more athletic, a much better shooter, ball handler, and passer with a GREAT WORK ETHIC, while James Young just doesn't care - you can see it in his body language, never mind what horrors happen on the hardwood when he's out there, lol.

So to recap, there's a guy with great skills and the work ethic and desire to improve vs a one and done Calipari crapper who can't even dribble, has no work ethic, and does not put forth any effort while on the court, especially on defense, but we take the latter because, umm, he's 3 years younger and a left-hander so he'll obviously be better than that 21 year old when he's Hood's age?  Umm, what?  I'd like to know if Ainge's brain doctor - the guy who supposedly determines who has it and who doesn't or something - was in on this pick, because me thinks his track record may suggest that his 'craft' is more pseudoscience than actually anything of substance.  We might as well consult with Miss Cleo at this point, lol ;D. Ugh.
