No interest in J.Okafor with Al Horford here.

We already have a better center in Horford.

I would be willing to move Horford to PF but only alongside a center who can play both inside and outside. J.Okafor can only play inside so I do not consider him a good fit next to Horford.
Okafor has an excellent mid-range game.  Very strong shooting percentage as a rookie.  Doesn't have three point range, but this notion that Okafor can't shoot is just nonsense.

Okafor shot 35% on jump-shots from 10-16 feet. 27% from 17-23 feet.

An overall shooting percentage of 32.6% outside of 10 feet.

Okafor made 563 field goals inside 10 feet.
Okafor made only 61 shots outside of 10 feet.
So 90% of his made shot attempts came inside of 10 feet.

That is not an inside & outside player. That is an interior player.

I'll give you 3 non-Brooklyn firsts, Young, and Jackson.

I'd like okafor.  I don't like him enough to give up brown or smart.  I really hope we don't trade Smart or Jaylen in any deal for these guys.

I wouldn't have traded Smart or the #3 then and I won't do it now either.   Butler is a little different but not really.  If we were getting Durant that's different if Butler would have lead to that.

Okafor I think is good but Jaylen is really just as good someday and probably a better two way player.

The offer has to start with Smart plus a sweetener
Okafor is much better than people think and if we could get him for Marcus Smart I would be thrilled....
Also, Philly has 2 good 1st rounders next year besides their own:2017 LAL(top3 protected) and MIA unprotected.
My idea would be if we got another top pick in 2017 draft or did a trade with the Lakers and gave them back their 2017 pick for a package around D. Russell

Anyways with Jaylen Brown on the team now, Okafor makes the most sense and he can pick apart teams w/ Al being able to stretch the floor and the rest of the starting line-up's ability to hit the 3

This would be if we were ready to rely on RJ Hunter, Jaylen Brown, and even James Young or Rozier. But even though we give AB away we would get back more value with those 2 picks by far.

Marcus Smart
Avery Bradley

Okafor
MIA 2017 first rounder unprotected
LAL 2017 first rounder (top3 protected)
The Sixers don't have the Miami 2017 1st.  Their Miami 1st was used in this draft to get Luwawu.  In any case, that is a terrible trade for the Sixers.  Okafor >> Smart.  Lakers 1st > Bradley.

Lakers first is not better than bradley.  Bradley is a bargain right now and the lakers went from terrible to somewhat bad this offseason

Good points BUT philly had horrible spacing, okafor was literally their best offensive threat so other teams focused on him, and he was only 19.  I have hope he can be a version of Tim Duncan offensively.  Duncan was a rising junior at wake forest at this point in his career, let's remember.  Tim averaged 16.8 and 12.5 in college as a sophomore.  At the same age, okafor averaged 17.5 and 7 on a terrible team where defenses could focus on him and without any veteran leadership.

This guy is going to be a top 2 offensive center in the NBA by the time he is 22-23.

If that's the case, my offer is "good luck to you sir!"

Smart and Crowder (and to a lesser extent AB, IT) are the heart of this team. I can't see Ainge moving either unless its a clear, unequivocal upgrade.

In some ways we might even be developing, with Horford, into a sort of Grit-and-Grind East — but with a talented offensive coach. All of which is cool with me.

I would be a bad GM...because I like most of the guys here and would not trade them.

And the guys I would trade nobody wants.

I like Okafor but I'd rather wait for Noel as a free agent this not giving up any assets.

Your numbers are wrong.  You talk about made shots, but then claim those are shot attempts.  That isn't accurate.  19.2% of Okafor's attempts came from 10-16 feet.  7.9% came from 16' < 3 points.  Just .8% came from three, but that is still 28% of his shots from outside of 10'.  That is a pretty high amount for a center (for example this year Howard only had 2.1% of his shots outside of 10').  Okafor also had less than 40% of his attempts from inside 3', which is a pretty low amount for a center, especially one you are a calling an interior player (Howard had almost 66% from inside 3').

And for the record, while that 35.3% he shot seems low, that was better than Bradley, Crowder, Sullinger, Olynyk, Jerekbo, and a few of the lesser Celtic players (like Rozier, Young).

Again this is from a 19 year old rookie on one of the worst teams in NBA history.

Okafor doesn't yet have 3 point range, but he showed the ability to knock down mid-range shots at a pretty good percentage, has nice form, and is a quality foul shooter.  He will only get better and he will only improve his range.
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - D. Daniels, Mitchell, G. Wallace, Melo, Noah
Deep Bench - Korver, Turner

It seems like all the players we have signed or drafted lately are versatile players that can do many things and different positions. Okafor does not fit our play style.

I'm not willing to give up a lot for a guy who doesn't fit the way Brad has shown he wants to play (fast pace, aggressive defense, and switch screens). If we can get him for cheap, then I would do it in order to improve our asset base and/or our bench.

I'd offer them the Memphis pick, the Clippers pick and James Young or RJ Hunter. I'm sure Colangelo laughs at this offer, at which point I'm fine not adding Okafor.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon

He's a good fit Who. Horford would help him so much. Fact is we need another big. Okafor would be the #2 scoring option on the team, and we really could use that.

I think okafor offensively could develop into a very serviceable player in stevens offense. The kid is obviously talented on that end of the floor.

I have two worries with him.

1.- people are ignoring that he had a pretty serious injury end his season last year.

2.- we would have to be praying he develops into a defensive player that teams wouldn't target every trip down the floor in the pick and roll

Hey guys...I'm all for getting bigger and gaining more size on the team. But Okafor hasn't even learned to round out his game. There's definiately potential there, no question! But for a player who is still learning and growing, I'm not exactly sure I want to trade an established player like Crowder or Avery Bradley, who are far more versatile contributors.

I would be far more amenable to trading our rookie or second-year players and/or Non-BKYLN first round draft picks.

I would go with Smart, Kelly, and Hunter. Would rather deal Young, but he has no value at all. We are going to have to pay Kelly god knows how much to keep him anyway.

 Would you make this deal.

Assuming Brown can replace what Marcus Smart currently offers (as a defender) than yes, I would be open to making this trade + non-BYKLN picks
