Okafor makes sense because he will cost less than Butler/Cousins/Westbrook/Love and because he is younger and he is still on his rookie contract. Plus he fills a major need: size.

Rozier, Olynyk, and non-Nets pick, Young, Zizic, (basically any asset not named Crowder, IT, Smart, Bradley, Brown, Nets picks, Horford )... And it would be an absolute steal. Question is how good is Rozier and how badly does Philly want to move Okafor?

I mean, what are we really giving up for them?  I feel like Danny will only lowball them. He seems to really like Brown a lot and most of our starters are key to keeping our team competitive enough to warrant trading for them

Thinking Smart for Okafor

AB, KO, 2018 BKN for Butler...yes, I know this depletes our shooting, but AB would be reunited with Rondo and KO is a FA next year and will need to be paid. Also, the pick isn't worth quite as much as this year's so we need to include a real asset (I do think KO is a real asset).

Rather give away Crowder. AB is vastly underrated. Our best shooter and our best defender.

According to NESN,RealGM, Bulpett, Danny Ainge is interested in/pursuing Jimmy Butler and Okafor. Couldn't care less about Okafor, but Butler would be nice.

There's a higher chance we trade for Butler than we were getting Kevin Durant.

Butler makes us tied with Cleveland in the East, imo. Jimmy would flourish here.
funny

I feel the opposite

I don't want butler as much as i want okafor
I trust Danny Ainge

Unless the 76ers are going to field a team of all 4s and 5s, I'd wait them out and see if that guy Wood off their summer league team is available.  He can actually stretch the floor.

I find it amusing that the Simmons isn't the best player on their SL team, and not the best Simmons in the Utah SL.  That Simmons for San Antonio? looks like a Lance Stephenson back when Lance Stephenson was good.

Think AB is properly rated, premier PG defender on one of the best contracts in the league.  I've heard some mention that it could be a problem trading him since he's due for a massive pay increase in 2018 when he hits unrestricted free agency.

I could be wrong, but wasn't Towns good-not-great in Vegas last year? Regardless, Simmons is the type of player that will flourish in more of a team concept.

Christian Wood was a tragic case on draft night. He rented a room in Law Vegas inviting 70 people thinking he'll somewhere around 13 to 25. After the Nets passed over him at 40 it sunk in that he'd go undrafted.

The biggest knock on him aside from being a bit of a tweener was his obscene 14.7% body fat percentage measured at the combine. Teams were really scared off by his perceived lack of work ethic.

I like a Butler/Horford combination a lot. I think now that we signed Horford I'm more willing to give up some of these future assets as to not waste the last productive basketball years of Horfords life on young players waiting to develop.

I would do Bradley(or Crowder if that's what they really want,) Olynyk, 2018 Brooklyn pick, 2019 Memphis pick, 2020 Celtics pick for Butler. If that's not good enough, meaning they want Smart plus the pick swap this year.. I'd much rather just add Gordon Hayward in the offseason.

Unless we are able to do a deal for something other than the two Brooklyn picks, I don't see the point.  I don't want Okafor and Butler isn't a huge upgrade over Bradley, especially at the price when we could probably make a run at Hayward in the off season for nothing.  Maybe if we keep our options open, and cap space, someone can just fall to us for practically nothing.

I don't like the idea of trade for Butler especially when we don't have Durant, Brown seems like a younger higher ceiling version of Jimmy and giving up so much for a guy that we past on in the second round just irks me. I am in agreement with JOMVP about Hayward we can get him for nothing next season or if he tells Utah he wants to leave we would get practically nothing some time this season.

IMO the only guy possibly available worth giving up all our assets for is Cousins he would dominate for us given how small the league is now and could be kryptonite for Cavs and GSW, he is also the only dominate big man that isn't a weak free throw shooter.

Perhaps next season we could line up with Cousins, Horford, Hayward, Brown, IT

Butler is a much better player than Bradley. Much better handle and ability to guard 1-3 and some 4's.

Butler was too 5 in MVP running before he got injured last year

I would do AB, Smart and 18 brk plus other picks

It               Rozier
Butler       Hunter
Crowde .  Brown
Horford    Mickey
Amir.         KO

Didn't we just have Horford fall into our laps for nothing?  I was resistant to giving up assets for Butler and wanted no part of Okafor on the team as constructed at the time but I just think Horford changes everything.

We're now one move away from contention. Sitting around waiting for that player to potentially fall into our lap could squander our chance to assert ourselves as an elite NBA team. Regardless, wouldn't Haywood rather join a team featuring Jimmy Butler and/or Jah than our cast of up and comers?

Rozier trade value rising with summer league play. Could see Philly having interest in him. Chicago too.
