Who's got a YouTube hopefully somebody's working on it. I wanna show a buddy of mine who didn't get to catch the game.

Lol, show him what, free throws? ;D

What's wrong with generating free throws? I told you a while ago Brown was gonna be a good player. You can't take much from summer league, but you can see a little about personality and basic skillset

Brown has the killer instinct, and more importantly he has an obvious ability to drive to the basket and generate points. That's HUGE. A little time to hone in his finishing and shooting ability, and he's gonna be a really good player.

That driving ability is gonna be what separates him from a "role player"

Listen, I hope you're right, I really do, and I went into the game with a completely open mind about Brown, but there just wasn't anything there, to me.  Still, it's only one game, and a summer league one, at that, so hopefully he'll be better, tomorrow, is that okay?  Brown wasn't who I would have picked, but we are where we are, and I'm rooting for him to succeed and trying to like him, I really am, lol ;D.

And generating free throws is great - I agree.  However, the way in which he did so amounted to little more than barreling into and/or running over guys and getting the whistle, as opposed to getting someone in the air with a shot fake, or something, and given that rookies are never viewed favorably in the eyes of NBA officials, my concern is that he's going to foul out very quickly if he doesn't adapt.  Is that fair?

Lol.  People around here are delusional af.  The guy is a bust at number 3.  To hang your hope on him is to willingly walking into disappointment.  HE'S A ROLE PLAYER AT BEST.  Now, are you ready to indict Danny, or should we keep waiting for the trainwreck?

Yea, you're not an idiot or anything.

Ok, I'll take that backhanded insult now only if you're willing to take it when it turn out I'm right.  Deal?

Thats what happens when you condescendingly call people delusional.

It's only condescending if what I'm saying is not true.  Sorry, I don't live in lala land.

Neither do I, but I live in "respect others opinions" land. I don't know what to think of Brown yet until I really see what he can do. I think he'll either be a home run pick or a strikeout. If you think he's going to be a bust, that's fine. I can definitely see the argument there but I'm going to wait and see what Brown is made of.

I'm just telling you that calling people delusional and that they live in lala land is quite rude and arrogant to say. It's one thing to not like Brown. It's another to take a shot at people who do, regardless of whether or not what you say is true. That's not called for bro. I'm not asking you to let up on your criticism of Brown because you're entitled to your opinion, but please at least respect others who disagree with you.

He's pretty one dimensional. Has no feel for the game. No jumpshot. Can't even shoot free throws. Goes for ridiculous dunks, half of them end up being offensive fouls. His ceiling is probably a homeless man's Kawhi Leonard.

Should have used the pick, Crowder, and Bradley to trade for Butler + second rounder. (Sometimes you have to overpay to bring a star). We would have likely gotten Durant in the process as well.

IT- Butler- Durant- Amir- Horford

Thats dang nasty.

Lol, TP ;D.

LOL... reading some of these comments are ridiculous after one summer league game. So I guess Ben Simmons is also a bust cuz he went 2-9 with 10 pts.

Yeah Simmons must be an even bigger bust.  Ya know.  Considering Brown outscored him nearly 2:1 and also had this nasty block on a guy 3 inches taller:

LOL.  Overreact much?

Jaylen Brown: 16 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 blocks.
Simmons: 10 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists.

Then immediately reaching for his calves. Reminds me of Revis when he gets beat. Wait, anyone here questioning Simmons' compete level? You know, which has been questioned for quite a while..

Lol. I knew this would come. Literally called it in the game thread haha
I could very well see the Hawks... starting Taurean Prince at the 3, who is already better than Crowder, imo.

you vs. the guy she tells you not to worry about

Yeah, you and I were watching to completely different players.  He was not barreling in and running guys over.  He didn't get a single offensive fouls on those plays (though he did get one in the game).  Brown was under control and made he plays he needed to make.  And once he got down hill, you could tell he was very tough.

Friendly reminder that Summer League doesn't really tell you if a player is going to be good... it just kind of shows you who is going to suck.

Consider that the league is made up primarily of undrafted amateurs.   Most of the guys playing we ok in College, but not good enough to be drafted.    So if you're the #3 pick in the amateur draft, common sense says that you were probably one of the top amateur players.   These are the same peers you were better than in College - so you should be better than them in Summer league.   If a top draft player DOESN'T put up big stats in Summer league, it's time to start panicking.

Brown looked good.  He's supposed to look good.  Hopefully it eventually translates to playing against pros.

I haven't heard about the block that he made on Simmons in the lane from anyone.

That was impressive.

I mentioned it earlier.
