The announcers had trouble talking because the spent so much time pleasuring Ben Simmons before the game.

He looked fine as well.   Showed his passing ability.  Both he and Brown looked fine.  It would be concerning if they didn't look fine against that level of competition.

Who's got a YouTube hopefully somebody's working on it. I wanna show a buddy of mine who didn't get to catch the game.

Lol, show him what, free throws? ;D

What's wrong with generating free throws? I told you a while ago Brown was gonna be a good player. You can't take much from summer league, but you can see a little about personality and basic skillset

Brown has the killer instinct, and more importantly he has an obvious ability to drive to the basket and generate points. That's HUGE. A little time to hone in his finishing and shooting ability, and he's gonna be a really good player.

That driving ability is gonna be what separates him from a "role player"

He'll be a very poor version of Kawhi Leonard. 10 pts, 6 reb, 2 ast kind of guy at his peak.
Yabusele doesn't seem to promising either. He's fast. Yes. He's strong, yes. But he can't jump over a freaking napkin. Wasn't able to rebound well, play good defense... probably because he can't get off of the ground.

One of the problems with Brown is that he is overconfident and eccentric. He will have a good work ethic, but I'm still doubtful of what a behavior like this leads to.

You can tell that after one summer league game?
As was predicted in the game thread early on. Some CBers only need a single summer League game to Proclaim the next HOF players and who is a bust.

No waiting in line at CB. Instant and final judgements are only a few seconds away. Why waste time gathering information or crafting a nuanced and indepth opinion when you can shoot from the hip and ignore all information that doesn't fit your preference.

 ;D

Well, not everyone. Most folks here are pretty good actually.  :)

Too early to say much. But in the game, Simmons showed great passing and vision.

But he also showed a lack of confidence when shooting. But I liked. What I saw from him in his first game.

Friendly reminder that Summer League doesn't really tell you if a player is going to be good... it just kind of shows you who is going to suck.

Consider that the league is made up primarily of undrafted amateurs.   Most of the guys playing we ok in College, but not good enough to be drafted.    So if you're the #3 pick in the amateur draft, common sense says that you were probably one of the top amateur players.   These are the same peers you were better than in College - so you should be better than them in Summer league.   If a top draft player DOESN'T put up big stats in Summer league, it's time to start panicking.

Brown looked good.  He's supposed to look good.  Hopefully it eventually translates to playing against pros.

All that said, I really like the kid.  He's aggressive and got to the line.  Next Paul Pierce, baby.  Lol

The Holmes foul was a flagrant 1 in my humble opinion.

I wish I got to see the game, but we had family over.

Highlights show that he had the ability to get to the line and defend his position. Love how he went at Simmons a little bit. If he plays with that kind of competitiveness and desire to be the best, he could be really special.

I look forward to watching the next game.

Few things I liked about Brown..

Phili was very long with a pretty good shot-blocker in the lane and Brown Continued challenging him..
Never got his head down when his shot wasn't falling and the calls were not going his way..
His form looked great but you could tell he was 19 and really trying to live up to the #3 pick..
The missed free-throws came toward the later part of the game - conditioning .
He really locked in on Defense against Simmons..  The Block he had on Simmons was a testament to the 7ft wing span and his excellent recovery speed.
No stupid fouls.. No careless turnovers.. Not many rookie mistakes,
and yes, he has a scorers mentality, He stayed aggressive but not ballhoggish..
Really liked what I saw from him in his first semi-nba game..

Lol.  People around here are delusional af.  The guy is a bust at number 3.  To hang your hope on him is to willingly walking into disappointment.  HE'S A ROLE PLAYER AT BEST.  Now, are you ready to indict Danny, or should we keep waiting for the trainwreck?

Yea, you're not an idiot or anything.

Ok, I'll take that backhanded insult now only if you're willing to take it when it turn out I'm right.  Deal?

That's not a backhanded insult, it's a sarcastic compliment

Two in thesame

No. We really should label a top 3 pick who's 19 years old a bust. Go on. Please tell us why he's a bust after one SL game.

It's not the SL game.  I knew it as soon as Adam Silver announced his name as our pick that Danny, as usual, made a colossal mistake.  Danny is great at many things, but on draft day, him and his son should not be in that room (unless he's trading that pick), plain and simple.  Jaylen Brown wasn't the BPA at number 3.  Not even close.

So Ainge sucks at drafting yet you love Smart? Look at the quote below from you....Let me dig up more on your historical opinions. I'm sensing a lot of inconsistency, arrogance, and pretty much embarrassing commentary.

"I'd trade Thomas before I trade Smart.  That's how much potential I see in this guy. "

So according to you Ainge hired one of the best coaches in the league, and yet we should fire him. Way to be consistent.

We have one of the best coaches in the league.  That's all the confidence I need to say Celtics will definitely have a better record.

Here is another quote from you last year. You are one inconsistent dude.

We happen to have one of the best GM in the league.  In Danny I trust.  I'm sure he'll pull something off this offseason.  As far as Lopez, his health is a major concern for me.  Can we get him for cheap?

Someone has complemented his performace but Bentil seemed completely lost out there. No doubt adjusting to our sets, but still..

Looks solid to me. Aggressive, athletic, engaged. Nice to see him rebound and run, drive and kick in half court, and knock down that 3 pretty smoothly. He's big, too.
