jaylen is way ahead of marcus offensively as a scorer and slasher.  Not so much defensively which is what was expected from me.

Agreed. I actually think this kid is gonna be a stud.

Love how things got chippy after the big dunk attempt, too

This freak is 19 ? What happens at 22, 23 ?

Hopefully he develops faster than any player in our roster. Kobe became an all-star in his second year and he was 19 at that time. He have the tools and mentality to develop fast.

Yeah Kobe was crazy. He said he was ticked off at how bad he was in his rookie year. Let's see if Brown has that crazy work ethic. If he is a franchise player, he should make big jumps after every year.

Lol.  People around here are delusional af.  The guy is a bust at number 3.  To hang your hope on him is to willingly walk into disappointment.  HE'S A ROLE PLAYER AT BEST.  Now, are you ready to indict Danny, or should we keep waiting for the trainwreck?

Holy $#!+ snacks! I thought I was the bitter, jaded, cynical one of the bunch!  ;D

Dude, you take the cake!

3pts a game huh bud? I think we'll develop him a little bit more than that!

I will admit though, it seems like Jaylen supporters are coming out of the woodwork post Durant to GSW. I don't remember that much support when he was drafted, and I was at the draft party which let me witness the "who?" reaction by 90% of the crowd.

PS- I literally led the boos against Wyc at the draft party! From the VIP section! (I even got some white collared corporate salesmen to join me!)  ;D

Brown is way ahead of Marcus going to the rim.  People trying to say they are similar on offense are way off base.  Brown was outstanding drawing fouls and had some fantastic takes.  He also can finish with both hands as a rookie which is a big plus not to be overlooked.  I'm very happy.

If he keeps working on his jump shot (to prevent defenders from sagging off) this guy is going to be a fantastic slasher and finisher on the break.  And he missed some FTs but I think his FTs will be just fine.

Yeah just like all the dummies that boo-ed Porzingis.  Something to be proud of there.

True indeed. But at least Porzingis was barely seen overseas. We have no excuse as Boston fans, who have the reputation as being the most knowledgeable fanbase in the nation.

I get wanting a trade but that was embarassing.  Brown is really promising.  Has big potential from what I've seen of him and love having an athletic slasher type on the roster.

Brown is unique for the Celtics ,  we have nobody that comes close to his ability to attack the basket like he does.

I hear that yo, Brown is everything Smart was supposed to be. A really athletic player that gets to the rim at will, and can't shoot.

You see the advantages he has, Super quick first step, Four inches taller, super explosive jumping ability.

Smart just doesn't have those qualities. He's still good though.

But Smart also does a lot of things that Brown has yet to do, so let's not sell Smart short here after one decent performance by Brown.

Is it wishful thinking that Marcus Smart and Jaylen Brown could learn from each other by osmosis?

Mahcus would be very aggressive in driving to the lane by seeing Jaylen doing it on practice a ton, and Brown would play as hard on defense by watching Smart every possession.

Would be awesome to see that two become just downright pests vs perimeter guys, and be able to just put the opposing team in foul trouble.

Please let this happen. I mean, they won't be able to shoot but hey...
2019 CStrong Historical Draft 2000s OKC Thunder.
PG: Jrue Holiday / Isaiah Thomas / Larry Hughes
SG: Paul George / Aaron McKie / Bradley Beal
SF: Paul Pierce / Tayshaun Prince / Brian Scalabrine
PF: LaMarcus Aldridge / Shareef Abdur-Raheem / Ben Simmons
C: Jermaine O'neal / Ben Wallace

TP. I was embarrassed as well. It was really disgusting to see and is really a result of us winning so many titles in the last decade. Imagine if the patriots had actually gone 19-0.

Who's got a YouTube hopefully somebody's working on it. I wanna show a buddy of mine who didn't get to catch the game.

Lol, show him what, free throws? ;D

What's wrong with generating free throws? I told you a while ago Brown was gonna be a good player. You can't take much from summer league, but you can see a little about personality and basic skillset

Brown has the killer instinct, and more importantly he has an obvious ability to drive to the basket and generate points. That's HUGE. A little time to hone in his finishing and shooting ability, and he's gonna be a really good player.

That driving ability is gonna be what separates him from a "role player"

Listen, I hope you're right, I really do, and I went into the game with a completely open mind about Brown, but there just wasn't anything there, to me.  Still, it's only one game, and a summer league one, at that, so hopefully he'll be better, tomorrow, is that okay?  Brown wasn't who I would have picked, but we are where we are, and I'm rooting for him to succeed and trying to like him, I really am, lol ;D.

And generating free throws is great - I agree.  However, the way in which he did so amounted to little more than barreling into and/or running over guys and getting the whistle, as opposed to getting someone in the air with a shot fake, or something, and given that rookies are never viewed favorably in the eyes of NBA officials, my concern is that he's going to foul out very quickly if he doesn't adapt.  Is that fair?
Yeah, you and I were watching to completely different players.  He was not barreling in and running guys over.  He didn't get a single offensive fouls on those plays (though he did get one in the game).  Brown was under control and made he plays he needed to make.  And once he got down hill, you could tell he was very tough.

Okay :-\.
Yeah, okay I guess?

Listen, Smart barrel's into the lane.  That isn't Brown at all.  The dude glides and I am very confident he has the requisite skill and explosiveness to finish at this level.
