I'm curious of what people think we should do with restricted free agents Sullinger and Zeller.

With the addition of Hortford, and it appears picking up the options of Amir and Jonas our front court is a little more crowded.  I would think at least one of them would be back but we really don't have the roster space at this moment.  If you say Horford takes Turner's roster spot and Brown takes the lone open spot from last year there is no roster space.  I'm expecting 1 or 2 minor trades.  I think Sully's rebounding could be missed if he is gone.

Let them both walk if anyone offers them more than the qualifying offer. They are not worth more than that.

I'm about done with Zeller. I really don't want him taking a roster spot on the Celtics. We must have better options than Zeller as a backup center.

I think Sully must be reading the handwriting on the wall, not too may teams are willing to take a chance on his conditioning challenges. He'll get signed, for less dollars than he thought.

Maybe Golden State signs him for cheap money.

They are both improvement over what the Nets had last year at backup center and PF.

I can see the Nets grabbing them for cheap.

I'm not sure exactly where we are with roster spots and payroll but I'd give sully (and zeller, if room is available) a one year deal up to the max, providing we stay under the luxury tax.

Can't wait for this Sully deal. He is still a quality big and so many teams still have cap space. C's hit around 90mill after including Amir, JJ, and Jaylen. That leaves around 4mill, and possibly the room exception or mid-level. There is no scenario where Jared plays in Boston next year.

You could resign Zeller on a 1 year deal over the cap with his Bird Rights, which I guess you consider. The advantage of this will be getting the full mid-level for even more September help. This might make it worthwhile for Wyc if we get through another round and get at least 3 more huge playoff games

Also at play is waiving Amirg, giving Festus a 3+1 52mill, and resigning Zeller with Bird Rights.. although I don't like giving Ezeli a long deal.

Sully will be too expensive to match. Probably too much long term money to commit to him. Better to let him walk and retain some flexibility for next season.

Unless we throw a lot of money at him for a single year.

I'd pay Sully $15-18 million on a 1+1 Amir-style deal.  Whatever a little above market value is.  He could be all the salary-matching we need in a mid-season Cousins, Butler, or Hayward deal, so that the rest of the trade could simply be picks.

Uggh, honestly, even if that would be the case, I'm just so ready to cut ties with him and Zeller. I get tired of Zeller's philosophy of shooting the ball every time it touches his hand, and I'm tired of seeing the untapped potential of Sully staring us in the face due to his inability to get in shape.

Sully will never sign a deal with a team option for next season in a sellers market like this. These are the two years to sign your long term deal. You would have to go way over market value for him to skip next years FA market.

Sully has more leverage than Amir and JJ had when they signed their deals.

Yeah, that would be perfect for us. No way Jared takes that.

It's Zeller's defense that drives me nuts. He should just start eating whenever and wherever Jared does and become a kind of Diaw/Kaman mix.

I honestly don't think they'd be TOO opposed to the idea of a one-year deal, mainly because the cap is going up once again very high next season, which means a chance for bigger contract.

Second year could be non-guaranteed or partially guaranteed if need be.
