Incarcerated Bob claims he knows which team Durant has chosen but is reluctant to tell it on twitter.

Attention seeking.

Jerry West is trying to sell Durant something as far as being a player who continuously fell short of winning a title.   GS is doing everything they can to do that but in the same regard we have the same selling point.  GS is much more strapped to their stars if they sign Durant.   We have much more flexibility that way plus star players. I can see Durant biting on that though.  Whether it's in Durants best interest is possibly something else.

I think coming here is in his best interest for similar but different reasons.  I think we are in just as good a position to set the tone in the nba if not moreso if we got Durant.

We are  a better situation than OKC that way.  We also aren't as strapped as GS will be with Durant.  That's pretty much it if he signs there.
I hope Jerry West mentioned that team that was the reason for him constantly coming short of a title. Oh yeah, the Celtics! That's all KD should need to know.

This is what I mean though.  We are smarter and set up better.

It's him, Curry, Klay and Draymond. They are going to lose everyone else. With the additional cap space it's possible though. But between those 4 guys they are going to run into issues.  That's 4 potential max players and teams are going to bid for those guys and drive their value up plus their roleplayers.

The cap just went up a huge amount, but it's still at 95 mil or whatever it is.  All teams need to do is throw lots of money at their players and roleplayers and GS is toast.

They are going to struggle to keep Draymond when he is up for contract.  I also doubt Jerry West is smart enough to fill those voids.

They aren't going to be able to pay all their roleplayers either. Teams will outbid them.

The lakers tried to put a super team together with payton, malone, kobe and shaq etc.  It blew up. GS is in better position vs that aging team but even still with the cap the way it is there aren't enough balls to go around. Players are going to leave.

I think it was West who put that team together too.  He might be wiser now but it's the same thing in theory.

That team  lost to the pistons who were a defensive juggernaught and constructed completely differently.

KD to GS = No bench = no more titles.
That's pretty obvious.

I'm betting KD signs with GS for like $15million per...2 years w/opt out after one year...That way, people will say he didn't care about the money...He's all about winning a title.

Only way he can spin this.
Larry Bird was Greater than you think.

KD is not taking a penny less than the max in year 1.  This has been confirmed.

My bad West left the lakers in 2002. That was Kupchak who put together that team. West is more credited for the initial Kobe and Shaq run and hiring of Phil Jackson.  So West knows what he's doing.  Still bleh though.

GS basically becomes the Lakers of the 80's vs us becoming the Celtics of the 80's.

From wikipedia

Quote
Lakers owner Jack Kent Cooke was known for having a keen eye identifying leadership and teaching qualities (he also gave Hall of Famers Sparky Anderson and Joe Gibbs their first managerial/head coaching positions),[46] and asked West to coach and participate in player personnel decisions.[47] In the 1976–77 season, West became coach of the Los Angeles Lakers. In three years, he led the Lakers and star center Kareem Abdul-Jabbar to a 145–101 record, making the playoffs in all 3 seasons and reaching the Western Conference Finals once in 1977.[48] After his coaching stint, he worked as a scout for three years before becoming general manager of the Lakers prior to the 1982–83 season. NBA.com credits West in creating the great 1980s Lakers dynasty, which brought five championship rings (1980, 1982, 1985, 1987 and 1988) to Los Angeles.[1] After a slump in the early 1990s, West rebuilt the team of coach Del Harris around center Vlade Divac, forward Cedric Ceballos, and guard Nick Van Exel, which won 48 games, and went to the Western Conference Semifinals; for turning the team around, West received his first Executive of the Year Award.[49] By trading Vlade Divac for Kobe Bryant, signing free agent center Shaquille O'Neal, and signing six-time NBA champion Phil Jackson as a coach, West laid down the fundaments of the Lakers three-peat which saw L.A. win three NBA titles from 2000 to 2002.[1]

Not good.  Hopefully one of those nets picks will be Larry Bird. Should have taken Dragan lol.

I wanted the Warriors to win it all this season (and last) but if KD joins them I'll immediately cheer for LeBron and the Cavs in the finals.
I could very well see the Hawks... starting Taurean Prince at the 3, who is already better than Crowder, imo.

you vs. the guy she tells you not to worry about

I'll be cheering for the Celtics and Brad Stevens to pull of some Butler magic. GS is going to be a star studded team.  We are going to have to build our team a different way like Butler did against Duke. Except win this time.  Stevens came up short by 2 points.

We are the second best team in the east with Horford. We really need Durant here.

Co-sign.  But KD isn't going to Golden State.

Hey guys. I wasn't sure whether or not to make this a new topic of dicussion but apparently Richard Jefferson sent out that Durant is headed to the Warriors via snapchat.

https://twitter.com/DanLifshatz/status/749822301307371520

Anyone here have snapchat?

Apparently he said KD to GSW, then he said something along the lines of "I'm just guessing".

Tommy point my friend. You deserve it for your reporting here this week.

Thanks man, I sent one back! But honestly it's not just me. Everyone's been doing a great job getting information here.

This is by far the most active CB has been during my time here. The excitement is palpable here, and even without Durant, it is an incredible time to be a C's fan.
not going to pretend I'm not going to be disappointed when I hear about durant signing elsewhere, but I agree - we should have a fun team to watch next year.  Excited to see if jaylen brown can contribute at all.   Summer league would be fun tomorrow but we are all going to be so deflated with durant going to the Warriors or thunder.   Even if brown has a huge game people here are going to be too bummed out to care.

But in the tiny chance durant goes to Boston - oh my god.  We'd instantly be a contender.
