Seems like Bulpett was the first to insist the decision would be tomorrow when others were sticking to the general 24-36 hour original timeline or expecting an announcement tonight.

Does it mean anything that a Boston guy had the more specific timing right first?

This is what I was thinking. Bulpett was the first to say it's tomorrow and it's not based off money? Then Blakely tweet out that Ainge is at the summer league, got off the plan with a grin on his face?

Honestly, "it's not about money" is best news for teams other than the Celtics, who have max cap space.  The Heat don't, for instance.  The Warriors can, but have to jump through a lot of hoops to get there.

That said, my source is confident it's down to Celtics and OKC.  KD was ready to choose Celtics today, but is having a really tough time leaving an organization and city he genuinely likes.

Not saying that Salt doesn't have contacts...but I'm always skeptical. I believe the Celtics are out. Not even a finalist with OKC Miami and GSW.

ESPN radio had one of the major reporters on(not sure who it was) and it is just pure speculation on these guys parts.  He did say Durant has said this would be purely a basketball decision and that he just wants to go where he can play and have fun.  Maybe true but he was using that to speculate it would be GS or OKC in his opinion.  Forsberg was also on talking about the celtics.  Didn't really say much that hasn't already been reported that Brady was there.

I don't know how OKC is a better situation than here from a pure basketball standpoint.  It's close on all fronts but rationally speaking here is the best situation for that?

OKC has a lot of questions going forward.

Reporters aren't exactly the most classy people on the planet themselves no offense. What people define as classy these days is pretty relative and open for interpretation.

The media is hyping up the possibility of him going to Golden State, because Durant forming a superteam there is an exciting concept that gets a lot of casuals to tune in and read their articles.  It's the most interesting narrative they can run with. 

But I guarantee you the second he actually picks Golden State - they will completely vilify him and burn him alive for being anti-competitive.  All those same people saying he should go to Golden State so he can "win" will be saying that choosing Golden State was a pathetic move that will ruin his legacy.  Suddenly the narrative will all be about how Durant has no fire in him... how he's just piggybacking on one of the greatest teams ever that would win without him.   There will be thousands of tweets, blog posts, news segments and hot takes comparing what he did with LeBron.

And btw, what Durant is doing is 10x worse than what LeBron did.  The Heat were a 47 win team and they had to gut their roster to add him and Bosh.   Boston is a 48 win team that doesn't have to gut their roster to add Durant and Horford.     Golden State is a freakin 73 win team that came a bucket away from being back-to-back champions.   Pathetic choice if he does that - and he'll be crucified for it.   

All it will do is turn LeBron into the savior... Everyone will be rooting for him to beat the Warriors again.
