Austin Rivers is getting $12 million from the Clips. Does that take them out of the Durant sweepstakes?

I'm starting to agree with others: we're going to be in the top-2 here, even ahead of the Warriors.
Yup, saw a legit report on Twitter forget who it was that the Clips wanted an answer from KD today if they were at least still being considered...with the signing of Austin Rivers they said they likely got their answer that they are out of it

Yeah, it does, but, honestly, LAC was never in it in the first place. There were many saying the whole "KD being blown away by their pitch" narrative was largely overblown. KD was never going to go there with their cap situation.

I think the same is largely true with Golden State due to the whole "legacy" thing.

I've always thought it was OKC, San Antonio, or Boston. The other choices just didn't make sense. I am a little worried that we never heard anything about the Spurs meeting..

Now that we have Horford, I'm banking on us being the only legit eastern conference option as the deciding factor. It doesn't look like Miami can compete.

If they don't get KD--and they just might--I'd like to see them get Gasol on a 2 yr deal. He's another scorer/rebounder up front and a vet who would make them better. Excellent player. The only UFA still available.

Yeah at first I thought we were a token team, probably just an interesting 4-6th team to throw in the mix.  Now I am not so sure.

Clips don't have the cap room to sign him unless they part with one of their core guys.  News that Durant tried to recruit Hordord to OKC, but that the team couldn't pull it off.  Boston signing Horford right after the meeting w/ Durant finishes.  The rumor that Durant flew to Boston prior to the meetings.  I don't see KD going to GS, he isn't the if you can't beat em, join em kind.  Miami got HW to resign, but DW is getting old, might be moving on, Bosh is a huge question mark.

Seems like that it might be down to OKC, Boston, and maybe SA.  This situation has gotten a bit more real as the day has gone on.

Also if he decides to leave OKC he would get less crap for it from their fanbase and his good friend Westbrook because he's going out east. This is huge I think.

I think a player joining a non-contender (like Boston) is always more palatable to a fanbase than a player joining a contender whose core is already set (like GSW or Clips).

Some one tweeted at IT and asked him if he's gotten the chance to pick Brady's brain yet. It replies...Hell Yeah!!!

Oh I hope that something and not IT just being is super positive self.

Wow, I thought the Jeff Green deal was bad, but I guess Austin Rivers takes the cake.  Still pending Sullinger's decision, but Rivers should be the worst deal by a former Celtic

Although E'twaun Moore is a very close second
I'm bitter.

the fact that the celtics are in the east has to be a big selling point. Adding Durant to this current celtics roster instantly makes them a top competitor with the Cavs for the #1 seed and to represent the east in the finals.

in the west, you still have a multitude of teams who are better than most. Golden state, the spurs, the clippers

Agreed. Bring him in as bench depth and leadership (and to seal the KD deal).
Celtics fan for life.
