At least we know what kind of guy he is.

Exactly. He's not Celtics-material if he's going to prioritize money over winning like that.

There's absolutely no question in my mind that Atlanta right now is a worse team than they were last year, and adding Horford to that trio will only make a tenuous fit even worse. There's a reason Horford has played the 5 his entire career in Atlanta..

Or they are a better team with Horford at the 4 and Howard at the 5.

It can be argued.

Really going to blame a guy to stay at his "home" for more money instead of a team that had a similar record?

Atlanta is a terrible franchise.  Do enough to put fans in the seats. Their players are just as bad.  Howard and Horford. They deserve each other.

Sources: Boston, Washington falling back on Al Horford, with Hawks strengthening in belief that a deal can be reached to re-sign him.

I HATE Atlanta. So much. And I hate Al. Using us as a tool. **** him
I dont think you can blame him for using us for leverage. Savvy business decision.

It's just crazy he's happy with losing in the second round every year. I mean that team has no upside. And they're trading Milsap, who is their best player. Horford and Howard don't even fit. It's pretty clear this seems like a money decision to me.
Yes, he can switch to us and lose in the first round! :)

Sources: Hawks preparing a full max offer to keep Al Horford. Kent Bazemore among those strongly recruiting Al Horford to stay in Atlanta.

So they found a trading partner for Milsap right?  They had to send out salary somehow to get the cap space for the max offer right?

I'll absorb Milsap into cap space and take a pick for our troubles :)

Splitter and Thabo would create enough space.
Isaiah, you were lightning in a bottle.

Yeah, no word on this yet. It aint over till its over. Horford hasn't given a verbal commitment yet either.

Yeah, the same as pretty much everybody.

And people need to stop acting like a jilted lover.  Guys will do what best for them every time.  And that's fine.

Yeah, we should respect the multi-millionaire, 1%er because he prioritized even more money over winning. BS. If Melo got crap for staying in New York, then Horford deserves it, too. That's absolutely him just chasing the money and prioritizing it over winning. That's the definition of a treadmill team, but it is Atlanta, what else would you expect?
Recovering Joe Skeptic, but inching towards a relapse.

Would be fun if they couldn't get rid of Millsap's contract due to their asking price. Would teach Al a lesson.

They don't need to trade Millsap to keep Horford. They can easily do other more simple moves (Splitter for example and misc).

Offering Horford the MAX is about willingness rather than limitations.

keep hope!

people seem a little trigger happy on the "this offseason sucks" train. We will know within a few days, plenty of time for Edited.  Profanity and masked profanity are against forum rules and may result in discipline.ing then.
