I've had a strong feeling for a while now that its between those 3 guys if we keep the pick. I think we will end up taking Dunn.

wow. i just posted this group in another thread. anyone of these three is fine with me. i trust ainge to make a good pick....though i personally like bender most. 

picking third is not a disaster or tragedy. the celtics will be a better team if any of these three join the team.

Brown? Meh. More an athlete than a hoopster, IMO.

Bender? Absolutely, unequivocally a disaster for the Celtics.

Whether or not fans like this or not isn't the story here.  A lot of fans may like this news and would prefer to keep the pick anyway, but the fact is, that's not what Ainge wants.  Ainge wants badly to trade this pick. 

And if more deals continue to be done before the draft tomorrow and we are continually turned away or turned down from offers, it'll be incredibly sobering.

Also surprised Murray isn't on that list. Sure his defense is shaky but he can shoot which we need badly. I also think he has a higher ceiling than Dunn.

I won't doubt Woj but it's hard to see Ainge taking and keeping Dunn.  He'd have the same problem as Philly with a bunch of guys all needing to play the same position.  IT, Marcus and Dunn all have to play the point to reach their maximum potential and Avery and Jae are already undersized at the 2 and 3.

I've heard Dunn called a better version of Marcus Smart.

If that's our pick, do you expect us to try really hard to trade Smart + #16 + #23 for a position of need?  Like Nerlens Noel or something?

It doesn't make sense to split 96 minutes between Thomas, Bradley, Smart, Dunn, Rozier, Turner, Hunter and Young. 

How would our PG/SG minute distribution look?

36 mins for Thomas
33 mins for Bradley

Then we split the remaining 27 minutes for Dunn and Smart? 

13.5 mins for Dunn
13.5 mins for Smart
0 mins for Rozier
0 mins for Hunter
...etc

Or do you envision some of these guys playing SF minutes in a micro-ball lineup?

Not to mention we have 7 draft picks we have no roster spots/minutes for.

I haven't seen a deal yet this year where I wish Ainge would have gotten involved.  Robin Lopez?  Jeff Teague?  Derrick Rose?

I haven't seen anyone death yet that I would have wanted us to trade for, so I'm not worried. I trust Ainge to not make a mediocre or poor trade just for the sake of making a trade.

My opinion is that if DA picks Bender over Dunn, he does so because he has attained a level of certainty about Bender based on his scouting.  I'd trust DA even though my impressions of Bender are that he's a big risk.   NO reason for DA to take a big risk on Bender with Dunn, Hield and Brown available.   

If DA picks Bender, he knows something we don't know. That's how I'll see it.
