I continue to wonder why many of the people who think Bender is too risky are just fine with taking Brown -- a great athlete who doesn't shoot well, has demonstrated an extremely shaky feel for the game and has a statistical profile that has never translated into a good NBA player.
Come on man. "statistical profile that has never translated into a good NBA player." What other nebulous comments can you make without proving? You think
every good NBA player had a better year than Jaylen Brown at 18?
Watch an interview. Watch his high school tape from only one year ago. One of the top hs players of his class. Polished, articulate, and hard working kid who wanted to go to a top ranked university- can't blame him for that. Super young, so I'm not sure that we want to go that route at this point in the development, but let's not pretend that scouts haven't been impressed by his size, athleticism, defensive potential, and ability to get to the rim.
