This is postering it's very early still. I could see leaks that we're going Dunn knowing the Bulls are wanting him, and us upping the offer for Jimmy and getting a deal done.

Drafting Dunn opens up multiple trade possibilities post-draft. Nothing wrong with that.

Brown? Meh. More an athlete than a hoopster, IMO.

Bender? Absolutely, unequivocally a disaster for the Celtics.

My opinion is that if DA picks Bender over Dunn, he does so because he has attained a level of certainty about Bender based on his scouting.  I'd trust DA even though my impressions of Bender are that he's a big risk.   NO reason for DA to take a big risk on Bender with Dunn, Hield and Brown available.

If DA picks Bender, he knows something we don't know. That's how I'll see it.

That's the logical perspective. Some people here though are convinced they know more about Bender than the GMs and scouts who have actually seen him play, have scouted him in person for several years, and have worked him out personally. Go figure.

All things being relatively equal, wouldn't DA be influenced by the interest he's getting from teams around the league?  If Dunn seems to be the target of affection for many teams, doesn't that effectively make him the most valuable pick at #3?   Danny likes value.

Not seeing it. All indications are that he'll trade it, even if it's for something like Noel and Covington or something like that. I could see us taking Dunn and not necessarily trading him on draft night, but later on this summer or something, perhaps after he impresses in summer league.

Basically how I see it.  I think we're taking Dunn at #3.

I see the same thing now. I see some Star saying that they are disgruntled in the post draft days and asking management to blow it up behind the scenes

I'm thinking Dunn too.  It's the safe pick.

TP for nailing it on the head.

Also surprised Murray isn't on that list. Sure his defense is shaky but he can shoot which we need badly. I also think he has a higher ceiling than Dunn.

Murray is just a smaller, slower, less developed version of Hield.  Would make no sense at all for boston to consider him when Hield is still on the board.  Hield us a better prospect in every regard bar age.

How the hell are Murray or hield no longer in the discussion but these other 3 have?

I continue to wonder why many of the people who think Bender is too risky are just fine with taking Brown -- a great athlete who doesn't shoot well, has demonstrated an extremely shaky feel for the game and has a statistical profile that has never translated into a good NBA player.

I think they are both risky but the mania that possesses some over Bender who only averaged 5 PPG in the ACB league  is ridiculous.   Good players stick out more and earn PT but he did not.  Brown has played well in All-American games and the talent in those games in more than Bender has ever faced.   I still think he is risky, as well.

Come on man. "statistical profile that has never translated into a good NBA player." What other nebulous comments can you make without proving? You think every good NBA player had a better year than Jaylen Brown at 18?

Watch an interview. Watch his high school tape from only one year ago. One of the top hs players of his class. Polished, articulate, and hard working kid who wanted to go to a top ranked university- can't blame him for that. Super young, so I'm not sure that we want to go that route at this point in the development, but let's not pretend that scouts haven't been impressed by his size, athleticism, defensive potential, and ability to get to the rim.
The only real mistake is the one from which we learn nothing.
