The craziest thing about R.J. Hunter is that people will once again wax poetic about one of the draft picks in the summer league this summer and have total amnesia about what happened this past summer with Hunter (and even Rozier and Mickey).
What's that exactly?
Rozier barely played in the regular season because we were a bit jam packed at guard, but towards the end of the season he started to earn Brad's trust, got an opportunity to get some minutes, and honestly played pretty well in the minutes he was given.
He even made a legitimate impact in the playoffs for us, which is not an easy thing to do for a young rookie who's barely played NBA minutes to suddenly be called up on the biggest stage.
He put up impressive numbers in both summer league and in the D-League, and when he did get NBA minutes for the most part he looked pretty good.
I don't think Hunter has a great deal of potential to be honest, but I thin Mickey and Rozier are both very promising young prospects. I think Rozier has potential to be a good starter (maybe even an outside shot at being a star), and I thin Mickey could develop into a better version of Bismack Biyumbo (or a poor man's Serge Ibaka).
Nah, Mickey doesn't have the rebounding ability of Biyombo, nor the quickness of Ibaka. Iirc, TheFlex nailed it last year, imo, when he compared Mickey to Taj Gibson.
As for the others, Rozier is meh, although at least he can dribble and get to the basket, etc., as opposed to Smart (even though that's not saying much), Marcus Thornton was a complete waste of a pick, and Hunter was the only selection I agreed with (not that that means anything, lol). I think RJ's fine. I just wish that he'd gotten more minutes, namely because his passing would really help in the halfcourt, imo, haha

. Ugh.
Regarding James Young, just get rid of him. Somehow, lol

. He isn't a hard worker, doesn't give any effort when he's on the court, and can't even dribble. The guy didn't even look like an NBA player in the summer league. Sigh.
