Am I the only who still believes RJ Hunter will bounce back from last year?

He's a really smart and skilled player, who just needs to be able to improve his ball handling/shooting in rhythm.

He's late first round pick.  Honestly, nothing to be disappointed about.

I'm not. I don't know what people exactly expected out of him last season. He was a late pick in his rookie year on a team that was aiming for the playoffs. I never expected much from him to begin with. If two seasons from now he doesn't develop into a useful role player then I will be disappointed.

It's a shame. Hard to not like RJ Hunter's stroke, underrated passing, and the fact he's a coach's son.

He shot 30% from 3, as a 3 point specialist.

Definitely room for improvement of course, but he needs more minutes and a chance to build his confidence.

I think he may need a lot more nba minutes to get better. I'm just not sure we have them to offer. I like him a lot but he may need to be traded.
Once you are labeled 'the best' you want to stay up there, and you can't do it by loafing around.

I like RJ still. He's got good awareness when he plays, hes long, he can pass, and hopefully the shooting can come soon.
I could very well see the Hawks... starting Taurean Prince at the 3, who is already better than Crowder, imo.

One of the biggest differences between college and pros is that the 3-point line is 3-feet further back.  That obviously requires an adjustment to the muscle memory that good shooters thrive on.  It's tough to develop that muscle memory on the bench.

I guess I'd say I'm mildly disappointed, but not surprised.

In the NBA, Late first round and second round picks are mostly....busts.

I expect nothing from him so I can't really be disappointed.

Can I ask who you would have taken instead? Because if I recall correctly, you aren't a fan of Danny's drafting, but you never tell us what you would have done instead.

So, who would you have taken instead of Hunter?
And why stop there? You've been one of the most passionate opposers to the "Euromistake", as you call him. Care to tell us who you would like us to take instead?

I think the only ones disappointed are those who expected him to be a rotation player after watching Summer League. I'm not disappointed in RJ. But it's not like I really expected all that much out of him anyway.

On the other hand, I'm a fan of Smart and expect much from him, but was a little underwhelmed by his development. Hopefully this year is when he breaks out.

In what little time he played it's easy to see he is WAY BETTER than James Young. Give him a little time like we have given James. Time to get rid of Young to anyone for anything.
