Honestly,  I think it is time for a little perspective on Okafor.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=20VGdpFAhCM

I'm sorry, but this dude is clearly worth the #3 pick by himself.

I've not really understood the fear of Okafor from so many here.  He looks like a 20/10 guy for sure.  His offensive skills are tremendous for a young big man.  And with CBS coaching and guys like Crowder and Smart pushing him defensively (and in general), I think he'd be a great addition to this team.

Exactly. It's mindboggling that people wouldn't want  Okafor... if you can take advantage of Philly in this situation you have to do it.

I'm a huge Noel fan......been say n he should be a Celtic .....he likes Boston and yes he is perfect fit for CBS and the guys now on the team.
I think Noel's mental makeup is better of the two

But .....

I think I'd still take Oakfor for Dunn pick over Noel.  Oakfor could be the scoring and inside presence the Celtics need soooooooooooooooo bad.

I believe DA will push to sign Noel anyway in the long run.

Lakers could take Dunn and throw a HUGE money wrench into the plan.
Then you take Ingram and hope for the best

It would be very fun to watch Noel and Mickey paired up in the front court for the Celtics...6-8 blocks a game between them.
Everyone wants truth on his side, not everyone wants to be on the side of truth.

Noel is a homewrecker

And he has ways to go  physically (adding bulk/strength)

He could have one of those bodies where it might be impossible to add much more bulk.

Some guys after a game lose 2-3 pounds . Just high metabolism

If I'm getting scoring frontline help, I have zero issue taking Noel for the #3. None whatsoever.

If Noel is all I'm getting, and there are no other deals, different story.

Noel is probably the best rim protector in the game. I think Phily will sweeten the deal because they want dunn so bad. Maybe a 1st next year?

I like both Noel and Okafor for different reasons. This is a rare situation where Hinkie drafted 3 centers 3 years in a row with top picks. Celts are in perfect position to grab one of them. And they're cheap.

Let's see, how bad does Philly want Dunn ? Offer them the #3 and #31 for both Okafor and Noel.  Keep Noel and trade Okafor and Bradley to the Lakers for Ingram. Trade Smart, #14 and 2017 swap for Butler and sign Ryan Anderson and Dudley in FA.

Isaiah Thomas
Jimmy Butler
Ryan Anderson
Nerlans Noel
Brandon Ingram

Dudley 6th man off the bench 👍

The Celtics are reportedly want Nerlens Noel in exchange for the No. 3 overall pick in the upcoming draft.

Sorry if this was posted

:o *facepalm* That's essentially trading Dunn for Noel, which has more than a good chance of becoming one of the worst deals in franchise history, imo.  Yikes.

Who says you're getting just Noel ? You think Ainge is giving up 3 for just Noel ?

I certainly hope not.

I'm hearing the Cavs have spoken to the Celtics about trading for the 23rd overall pick. Cavs currently don't own a first round pick.

Who do you believe?

He loses credibility when he says that "sentiment around league is that Boston doesn't have anyone on roster that other GMs really want."

We also already know that Crowder was the sticking point in a Butler deal with Chicago at the deadline, so this guy is pretty full of it.

Russillo is a joke.  He covered the Cs previously so he is ultra-negative in his coverage of them now to make himself look more "neutral."

There are 7-10 players on the Cs roster that any GM in the league would take.  The issue of getting a trade done is that the Cs have to get back something we want.  And yes for what we want GMs are likely not interested in what we are willing to give up.

I'm not sure I would take either for the #3 after reading this...but I feel that Noels may be the better fit for us

http://www.sbnation.com/nba/2016/6/21/11988550/philadelphia-76ers-trade-rumors-nerlens-noel-jahlil-okafor

But Okafor's rookie campaign was marred with bumps along the way. There were several off-court incidents and a season-ending knee injury. The fit with not only Noel, but the 76ers' system itself was questionable. Philadelphia wanted to play fast, but often got bogged down with Okafor on the floor. For as talented as he is offensively, the Sixers were significantly worse on that end with him on the court, and they played at a much slower pace.

and  Noel

Noel missed his entire first season in the league due to a torn ACL, but he showed his potential as a game-changing defensive talent when he finally did suit up for Philadelphia. He anchored a defense that was downright stingy with him on the floor in 2014-15, and he's posted historic block and steal rates as a youngster.

On the flip side, his offensive game is still elementary. He doesn't have much of a jump shot or a post game to speak of, so most of his value on that end comes off pick-and-rolls and attacking the offensive glass. At just 22 years old, there's still time to develop his offensive skills, but his ceiling appears to be capped because of that. The Sixers may be wary of shelling out a massive contract extension this summer for a player with knee issues and a limited offensive game.

It's really a simple thought process:

If Okafor was put back in the draft this year, after a year in the NBA, would he be a candidate for the #3 pick?

I say without question - yes, he would be in the running.  But the better question is - given who else is available, would the Celtics draft him?

Probably not because I guarantee if Danny called Philly right now and said "#3 for Okafor" he would be in a press conference in green tomorrow...Danny clearly doesn't want JUST him.

The Cavs probably aren't thinking about the Love trade with the 23 pick, but it could certainly start the process of talks for Love, especially with number 16, too.

Don't they owe us for clearing space for Lebron?  :P I know an other team would have done that, but DA stepped right up.

So for sure, love won't cost the 3, right?

Cuz I read somewhere that Windhorst had a podcast today where he said the cavs really like Avery, and would also want a few picks/smart. But he also noted that the Celtics wouldn't give the 3 pick to them.

I remember earlier when some were down to trade the pick to them for love. Glad we didn't do that.
I could very well see the Hawks... starting Taurean Prince at the 3, who is already better than Crowder, imo.

you vs. the guy she tells you not to worry about

I think the most we offer right now is AJ, AB, 16, 23. He won't do AB AND Smart.
