The SB nation writers simulated mock draft has us trading #3, #23, JJ and cash for Gordon Hayward. The suns were involved as well as a 3rd team.

Personally I don't like it, you give up a lot for someone who isn't taking you to the finals and is on an expiring deal. What do you guys think?

horrible deal.  Hayward isn't worth anything near the #3.  If he's coming over with Favors, that's a different story

Hayward has a player option after next season, meaning that we could effectively be trading a #3 pick for one year of GH. Pass.

Don't like it one bit. Aren't we  the top suitor for him next year as it is anyways with the Butler connection?

Yeah, I think this trade doesn't make sense unless he is signing an extension as part of the deal or at least promising to pick up his option as part of the deal.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

If you think that trade is bad, at least you're not the Wolves blogger who picked Denzel Valentine at #7.

here is someone else to consider further down the draft. i like zubac as a good, off the bench role player for the celtics.

Zubac said he scheduled only 4 workouts, for teams who inquired most and scouted him in Europe: #Pistons, #Grizzlies, #Raptors and #Celtics.

Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

Lol I know that was just awful

I'd assume it was Jeff Clark as he's done it in the past. The article didn't actually say though

I think G.Hayward for the #3 is a good trade. I don't see why Utah wants to do it though. They want to get away from rebuilding. Not get deeper into it.

I do question it from Utah's perspective as well it just doesn't fit. Further more by including the Suns they actually end up with 4, 23, 28 and Jerebko

Hayward strikes me as one of those "close but no cigar" players. While he's nice to have, I'd hate sinking major assets into acquiring him.

My assumption is that they think they will lose him to us anyways next summer when he opts out, so might as well get a pick from us in the process. I'm not spending those kinds of assets on him when we can get him next year in free agency if we want to.
