I'm on record now that we should not draft Brown at #3 overall. Here is what he does well. Very good in transition, Can get to the basket in half court finish and draw fouls. That's about it.

His jumpshot form is terrible, it's a horrifically slow release as well. If you have watched his games he is not a good defender at all. Below avg free throw shooter, poor 3 point shooter.

Handles are ok, gets very sloppy at high speeds makes poor decisions. I also do not seeing him being a gym rat, with his high intelligence and many interests off the court.

Stanley Johnson my binkie from last year is much, much better than Brown and he was drafted #8 overall. Winslow is also better and drafted #10 last year overall. So why in the world would you draft him #3?

You can even see in these highlights how sloppy his game is. Take a look.

Ainge has been in my good graces for some time now, don't screw up our relationship Danny. I'm Warning you.

BTW. If he slips because he can't shoot, defend, etc, than fine go get him with a trade. But at #3 he's a horrible choice.

I looked at the highlights you posted.

Now I want him more than EVAH!!!

He is awesome!!!!

He is an NBA Playah!!!

Am solidly on the JayBrown Express Train...

You should not have posted that video of a reason NOT to draft him, OP.

What exactly did you like? He's athletic, but he finishes unorthodox, and jumper looks bad.

Reggie Miller had the ugliest jumper in the history of NBA, but is one of the all time great shooters. Don't obsess about how his form "looks." Great shooting is much more mental than physical.  He will never be a shooter like Reggie, but you see my point. I just love his raw energy, his nose for the hoop.  He just looks like he can walk into the league and make stuff happen.

From the current chat from Kevin Pelton, ESPN BB Stats guru:

If you're Danny Ainge, what scares you the most: Jaylen Brown's analytics, Jamal Murray's athleticism, or Bender/Chriss's "rawness"? I could also throw in Dunn's age, for that matter.

Kevin Pelton  (3:34 PM)  Brown's statistical projections. There are few examples of players who scored so inefficiently in college becoming good scorers in the NBA.

From Chad Ford regarding Brown's workouts:

"said his performance was stellar. Shot the ball really well. Was in great shape."
"There's sharks and minnows in this world. If you don't know which you are, you ain't a shark."

Rebuttal 1 - He has now followed Kobe's and Butler's schedule.  Getting up at 5:30am...shows that he is dedicated.

Rebuttal 2 - Each draft is a different animal...draft positions cannot be compared year to year.

I like him a lot...he will be a very good player.

So you're saying there's a chance!

The same guy who defended Murray and Hield in their workouts.

And he can play right away in nba without being an embarrassment for his teammates on defense.
He's young, plug and play right now, gym rat, smart guy, very confident and independent.

Mr Chair? We know Hield and Murray can shoot in competition. We haven't seen Brown do so.

Come on Footney, your better than that. Only problem with your argument is this. Reggie Miller was one of the greatest shooters if all time.

Jaylen Browns combined 3p% and Ft% is worse than Marcus Smart's freshman or sophomore year.
