Olynyk for Love. Wow. I don't know how to describe that. Is it cruel irony? I'm not sure. Anyway, TP for the info.
I got the sense that bender's value took a hit after not much praise was said about him from Danny's trip.
I honestly think Kevin Love will only be traded here as a last resort just because his value has reached an all-time low. That being said, I still would do it. Call Love all you want defensively, he can't be much worse than Jared Sullinger.
It's not that, it's AB AND KO plus a second for Love.
Oh I know. I'm just saying that it's a little funny to me that in this hypothetical, Love will be traded for Olynyk after well, all that happened last year.
It won't be funny if Olynyk out-performs him, which would not surprise me.
Don't hold your breath. Love is a much better rebounder than Kelly but Cleveland is playing him like he's Ryan Anderson. Love should fit much better with the Celtics if say he's traded here.
Lebron commented on Love's play the other day, and said he had to play better, even if he doesn't get as many touches as he wants.
That tells us
a) Love complained about his touches
b) even though he complained, he's still not getting the touches, because his teammates don't trust him enough
If Love was better, they would use him in a different role. Instead, Love didn't even play in the 4th quarter in several matches these playoffs.
I think the hope that Cleveland's third best player (at best) would somehow turn us into a team that could beat the Cavs is a pipe dream, and if we want him as our own third option, he would face the same situation here he faced in Cleveland.
He's soft, he's a diva, and reportedly, his knees are shot. On a max contract.
Wow. That's one of the most biased, innacurate assessments of Love I have ever seen. There are no reports of him having knee issues, he has never been called a diva anywhere, and he is not soft. You can argue that he's not that talented , a defensive liability, or not a good fit, or disintersted, or not a team first guy, but all he points you brought up are way off base.
So I can say he's not a team first guy, I can say he complained about his touches, and I can say he gave an interview after a game where he called out Lebron (the infamous "our leader over there" interview), but I can't call him a diva?
Is it because he's white? Because for some reason, white players are never considered divas in the public eye.
And yes, he's soft as tissue paper. The internet is full of video examples of Love getting shoved out of the way by smaller and supposedly weaker players.
Maybe his knees aren't "shot", per se, I'll give you that. I thought I read a report a few days ago which mentioned that, but can't find it now. It sure looks like it, though.
But sure, let's go with your line of "he's not that talented , a defensive liability, or not a good fit, or disintersted, or not a team first guy".
