Although I am not a big Love fan, if you trade for him, who is your Tristan Thompson? Love is a mediocre defender and you need a good complement to him in the front court.

I'd love to get Love for AB and then Nerlens Noel for the 3rd pick+minor pieces
I'm bitter.

Anyone catch Felger & Mazz today? It was pretty interesting.
People are talking about it on RealGM and I'm reposting 'celtixman''s summary because it's good.
Take it with a grain of salt, but good conversational info....

There was a caller today "Barry from New Bedford" on "Felger and Mazz" who called in with some interesting information. He claims that he " is friends with scouts who know agents and I(he) gets tweets from time to time from them."
In listening to him he seemed very credible and had very specific information - it was at about 1:40 into the show:

1.) The Celtics would be looking to package Bradley, Olynyk and a second round pick for Love. The Cavs are more interested in AB than they would be in Crowder.

2.) Butler could also be involved in an AB trade but for more assets

3.) Ainge as disappointed at what he saw in Bender when he saw him overseas

4.) Ainge has shopped the #3 pick to about 10 teams and he (the caller) heard about seven proposals.

5.) The Celtics want to trade the pick but if they don't the name he heard they are interested in is Marquise Criss.

Very interesting and specific information

I've been off the Love bandwagon, but would do this.  BTW, if you caught CSNNE Sports Tonight last night, you would have seen Bob Ryan say he'd trade the #3 for Love.  I think the game of basketball has passed Ryan by!

That's why they take Brown, a ready made defender to help out, no?

I'd love Noel, too, but man that's a lot to give up the number three pick for, especially due to the recent report that their values around the league are much lower than the Sixers expected. A Love/Noel pairing would be pretty epic, though.

So what we've learned recently is that we're trading Bradley to the Cavs and to the Bulls, and we're going to use the No. 3 pick to draft Brown and Chriss and Bender, even though we're trading the pick anyway. ;D

Why do you say that?

Here is quote from Kevin O'Connor
Quote
As a team they (Cal) ranked 17th in the nation in AdjD, per KenPom. Per HoopsLens, they have a 94 DRTG with Brown on the court compared to 102 DRTG with him off. Watching film, it's clear he played a significant role in their team success regardless of the individual blocks/steals.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon

That seems like a trade you have to make.

But Love=soft and Bradley=binkey.

I will be fine if this doesn't happen.

You get Love and you keep the #3? All you really give up of value is Bradley?

Good grief, where do I sign?

Good to know Ainge hasn't gone totally daft on Bender, as this board has.

Yeah, kevin love the guy who can't get a sniff in the finals, a matador on defense, the missing link to a championship team. Do you even watch the games?

All of them.
Id do AB for Love, but surely it concerns you to notice that in the Cavs 3 wins love has scored 9 points and recorded 6 rebounds with 7 fouls and 3 turnovers.

Not really. Kevin Love has never been a fit in Cleveland, and fit matters. Players don't automatically mix well with other players and systems. Rondo didn't fit with what Stevens wanted to do, for one example.

Love and LeBron don't mix. I strongly suspect he'll play much better, wherever he goes.

Defensively??

Everything Id read or seen (obviously hadnt read this OConnor report) more or less said that Brown had the physical tools to be a really good defender, but right now was not one.

This is why I love Danny Ainge. No other GM could get this value or have the testicular fortitude to trade the same player to 2 different teams and pick 3 players with one pick. Not even Red did that.

His defensive issues wouldn't be so glaring if he got a lot of shots, scored efficiently and rebounded well.

Olynyk for Love. Wow. I don't know how to describe that. Is it cruel irony? I'm not sure. Anyway, TP for the info.

I got the sense that bender's value took a hit after not much praise was said about him from Danny's trip.

I honestly think Kevin Love will only be traded here as a last resort just because his value has reached an all-time low. That being said, I still would do it. Call Love all you want defensively, he can't be much worse than Jared Sullinger.

It's not that, it's AB AND KO plus a second for Love.

Oh I know. I'm just saying that it's a little funny to me that in this hypothetical, Love will be traded for Olynyk after well, all that happened last year.
