Pretty interesting read here, regarding the claim that the Cavs are better without Love.
I could very well see the Hawks... starting Taurean Prince at the 3, who is already better than Crowder, imo.

you vs. the guy she tells you not to worry about

Amir (if we pick up his option) and KO are FAs after next season and will need a substantial raise.

I'm assuming you were referring to KO only with the raise comment because Amir is already substantially overpaid.

Heck yes, you pursue him. Big time upgrade for your front court.

It doesn't take much to upgrade their front court.

If Love were to be a free agent this summer, I think he'd likely command a four-year deal worth $23M annually. He's younger than Horford and produces at his level, and Horford's going to get the max.

Yes, KO, mostly - I was just trying to iterate that we will have some big decisions to make next year on contracts, and even more so the next.

But, Amir could easily bump his number up to $15M+/yr on a shorter contract with the new salary cap (which balloons again next year).

Regret regret regret.  That's what would happen if that deal went down.  MUUUCH rather have Smart and Damion Jones at that future first.  Much rather have Smart, T. Prince and that future first.  Much rather have Smart, Sabonis and that future first...

I admit, I'd rather have Smart by himself than Love.  Smart helps Cleveland more than Love helps the Celtics.  I'm tired of the crappy defense from our bigs.

I am in the don't help Cleveland camp.  Almost any deal with the Cleveland would absolutely help them and make it even harder to beat them in the next couple years.

Let them improve themselves with some other team's stud.  I'd rather they beat us that way than with Marcus, Bradley, etc..

Love will deliver the Celtics.....nowhere.

+1.....If we make Cleveland stronger for the next few years, that coincides with Love's window for helping us.

I'm very much against this, even though I think that Love would be a good fit here, unless we get two other stars. (Durant, Butler, Horford, Howard)

I agree on this. I would still like to trade with them for a trade that would not really help the Cavs...the trade that would work would be us getting love but would be sending our picks assets to New York and let Melo go to Cleveland...Melo would not really move the needle for the Cavs even though Lebron would think it does...

No, Amir is not overpaid, not even a little bit. He was arguably our third best player when he was on the floor last year. He's an above average starter, and $12m is a bargain for such a player.

No. He is just like KO now and im not even joking. Heck KO will still improve but Love has already peaked. Love is better slightly bec he rebounds but is an atrocious defender. KO is already a better 3 pt shooter and the slight improvement of the team with Love does not justify his price.   No to Kevin Love.

I think we are a defending big and a scorer like Buddy or Murray away from making the EFC. Let's get their and then make a Dennis Johnson trade type. "Get what we need" to win in the finals. No way Lebron saw the Warriors coming when he made the Love Trade happen. So No to Love and Yes to Whiteside.

I'm only doing it if it's a three team trade and all the Celtics have to do is give up like one first rounder (NOT #3) and one second rounder (NOT #31), and a young player or two not named Mickey.

Is that happening? No. But if the Celtics are only getting Love there is no way he is worth more at this point. Not a Bradley. Not a Crowder. Not a #3 pick.

Any of you Posters want to win a ring in your lifetime  or for some a chance at another?

Maybe most of you are satisfied with playing below .500 ball vs above .500 teams the last few years?

Love is a Top 15 player in this league. If available for the #1 (3) or a combination of picks YOU make the move.

Swap KO + any of Young/Hunter + #16 & 23 for Kevin Love.

I would be down for that trade.  Even though I'm not a huge fan of love right now, his scoring ability and rebounding are helpful.  And KO plus a couple of mid 1st round picks and/or Young or Hunter are not a huge price to pay.

7pts and 6 rebounds per game @ 12 million per season. Please explain the "bargain" we are getting? Let me guess-(intangibles) that can't be quantified.

Here are our three best players-

IT
Crowder (pre injury at least)
Bradley

"Arguably" better-

ET
KO (when healthy)

Even Smart had more impact on the playoffs than Amir.

Thats six players, by my count that are more valuable to the team (and all of them are payed less than Johnson).

Oh, and btw, IT and Crowder's contracts combined get you an Amir "****" Johnson (roughly).

Feel free to argue with that. :P

No sorry, people here only want to trade for paul george, westbrook, cousins, or jimmy butler. Everyone else is too flawed
