Poeltl is a classic back-to-the-basket center. He's a good and willing passer and can run up and down the floor and has a 36- to 38-inch vertical.

"I remember early on when I watched film of him playing in Austria as a young kid, I looked at the film and told our coaching staff there's no way in the world this guy's 7 feet tall," Utah coach Larry Krystkowiak said. "It's not very often that you get a 36-38 vertical jump with the kind of speed he has getting up and down the floor, combined with his size. That's pretty awesome. Good hands. In that one play you were able to put it all together."
Safest player in the draft. I don't understand why nobody even talks about him at #3.

I don't understand why nobody even talks about him at #3.while i hesitate to speak for others, i think part of the reason maybe that while he has high floor ("safe pick") he doesnt have a really high ceiling. bender, murray, dunn they will probably turn out to be better players in the long run.
I don't like his feet, and his penchant for being dominated by smaller bigs like Grady at Wichita State, but he looks like Kareem compared to the Euromistake.
