Marc Eversley, the team’s vice president of player personnel, gives the impression that Ben Simmons and Brandon Ingram aren’t the lone prospects being eyed for that spot. On Thursday, he said:

“Jamal Murray, we certainly got a chance to see him a couple of weeks ago. He’s certainly going to be one of those kids who’s going to be in contention for the No. 1 pick.

“We like him a lot. He’s going to bring a lot to wherever he goes in the NBA, certainly a talent.”

Gives us a shot at either Simmons or Ingram! It wouldn't be unrealistic given that Colangelo actually did draft Bargnani at #1 ::)

Breaking news: Philadelphia says a bunch of crap they don't believe. Tune into the starters on Monday on NBATV to find out what Tas and JE Skeets have to say about how stupid what Philadelphia said was!

If they really scout Murray/are actually interested in him, it will be as the 3rd pick. I see no world where someone other than Ingram or Simmons goes #1

I don't believe it

But people keep on pumping up the other prospects, which is great for us
I trust Danny Ainge

I don't think there was a consensus #1 in 2006. It was suposedly a pretty open race between Bargnani, LaMarcus Aldridge, Adam Morrison and Tyrus Thomas.

Yeah, when you look at the top 4, Bargnani has had the second-best career.

Ben Simmons is the best prospect in this draft. Brandon Ingram is not a good a prospect as people think in my opinion.  Jamal Murray is just as good as Ingram.  However I don't think anyone besides Simmons and Ingram are going to be choosen top 2.

The rumors this time of year are funny.

Not to give anyone here false hope but wasn't the 2015 draft supposed to be Towns/Okafor at 1 and 2 around this time?

Maybe it changed earlier but that's how I remember.
The Nets will finish with the worst record and the Celtics will end up with the 4th pick.

The rumors this time of year are funny.

Yeah, I can't quite fathom the reason for saying this. Unless, the Sixers are trying to make a trade, so that when they take him at say 3 or 4, they can proclaim they made a "steal".  This might appease their fanbase, if they deal Okafor or they trade the number 1 pick.

What if Philly deals the pick to move back in the draft.  This actually might be a good move for them.

Otherwise, why talk up a player you have no intention of taking?  What's the point.  Why not simply declare: Simmons is the best prospect since Lebron.  Drive up the asking price for the pick.  Left alone, thi is indeed one of the stranger statements

Does anyone else feel there are similarities with Chriss and Tyrus Thomas?

For the answer to this question please refer to one of the 487 Chriss threads, of which this is not one.
