Just a stab at somebody who might be a superstar down the line. He has the ingredients. Athletic 7 footers who can shoot generally go earlier. And they're all mostly 19yo anyways.
Danny won't hesitate to roll the dice on somebody like that--he almost traded 4 no. 1s last year for one. You look at the superstars in the league, and they're all athletic--and can shoot.

I would be happy if they got Okafor, Bender or Maker for the #3. I'm not fussy. I've looked at the reels of some of the others, and I don't see much else that can help them. Brown looks great to the basket, but he can't shoot outside. The other guards just complicate their crowded guard picture, unless they trade. Zizic isn't an NBA 5.

What they need is an upgrade at the 4-5, and all three of those guys I mentioned first would upgrade them up front. Maker, I think, has the most upside.

Thon Maker at 3? Thank god you're not making decisions.

The reasoning isn't terrible, but why draft a guy at 3 if he will be available at 16, 23 or maybe even 31.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

If could somehow pry  Love away from cleveland that would be good. Maybe swap with phoenix where phoenix gets bender.  We get Brown.  We both give up a player where Kevin Love comes here. Maybe Crowder and Teletovic plus future picks go to cleveland.

Or maybe some way we can get the bulls or clippers involved.  Or even sac.  All the teams with Butler, Chris Paul, Kyrie, Cousins.. I don't know.  I see Kyrie staying in cleveland but maybe somehow butler and kyrie go to the clippers and paul goes to cleveland and love comes here somehow where we can move down and still draft a player.

Maybe Butler and Kyrie to the clippers.  Paul to Cleveland.  Crowder and Sully in a sign and trade to chicago.  We swap picks with the bulls and select Chriss and somehow trade him for Cousins.

Crazyness but yeah. We'd stil be positioned for Durant next summer.  Still draft this year.

Cleveland clears cap for a Lebron, Paul, Melo pairing.  We get Love and Cousins possibly  plus draft brown and have cap to add Durant next year.  The clippers get Butler and Kyrie.  The bulls get Crowder and Sully in a sign and trade plus picks for Butler.

Durrant would move the needle or Cousins.

More on Maker. Bird worked him out a couple of days ago in Indy. The Pistons worked him out yesterday.

This kid just declared for the draft in April. The big negative on him is his level of competition (HS). I doubt his age (19) is a factor.

He is moving up the draft board--now predicted to go in the first round (Chad Ford, ESPN).
By draft time, he might go higher, maybe in the top 10. He has an attractive combination of size, athleticism and skills.

Has Ainge worked him out? We'll see if he does.

https://www.masslive.com/celtics/index.ssf/2016/06/2016_nba_draft_rumors_boston_c_5.html

"If you do end up trading (the pick), it has to be pretty impactful," Stevens said Thursday during an appearance on 98.5 The Sports Hub's Zolak & Bertrand show. "There are a lot of good players that are available in this draft, in my opinion. I'm just scratching the surface of learning about each of them at a deep, deep level, but there are some good guys. And I'm excited about having the third pick. So if we were to move it, then I would say it would have to be something pretty special to move it for."

PC talk but makes sense. I believe Boston will keep the pick unless they can swing a good deal for Boogie.

I am bumping this to the top so it's above the other ridiculous trade rumor / idea threads.

Everyone needs to be aware that Danny and Brad are not trading the #3 pick (let alone players and picks in addition to it) for anything less than an All-Star or a really young player very close to becoming one.

Word is, Danny Ainge is growing higher on Marquess Chris and lower on Drag an Bender. Danny feels its more 50/50 with Bender and more like 70/30 with Criss. Just thought I'd add that in

This more or less summarizes my take on bender:  http://youtu.be/iX8Y0naw8ks

So you know that he stopped playing for Croatia at age 16 so all the clips of him playing bad in the Croatian uniform are from age 15 or 16.  Also at age 15 he put up 11 on Porzingis and at age 16 he put up 31 on Sabonis.  His perofmance in the U18 FIBA tournemnt at age 16 was one of the greatest all time.  Yea everyone makes a bad play and if you wanted you could string together a two minute clip of bad plays for anyone.   The clips from Maccabi Tel Aviv though is interesting because it shows him missing shots that he takes to the rim strong but lacks the strength to finish.  Oh but he is only 17 playing against men in their 20s and 30s who have play so much more pro ball.  It shows he is in good position defensively but gets beat by strength or miss times his block attempt.  But he is where a rookie should be on the floor.  He is making the right basketball decision in all of the Maccabi Tel Aviv clips you show. Here are some clips of him about a moth after he turned 18. I believe this is the only film we have access to of him playing at age 18.

If Chriss is the pick, he does for the mold of athletic, defense first with 3-point shooting thrown in.

Thomas, Bradley, Smart, Crowder, Chriss would be a pretty good small ball lineup with Chriss providing shotblocking.  Heck Chriss and Mickey on the floor together would be great on defense.

Actually he never said he had a source you bafoons. The thread clearly stats him saying " and I will tell you why " keyword being "I" so all you people who claim he said he had a source are imbeciles. Of course this is speculation and he never said it wasn't. This is the sad truth about the phycologic state of this board. You are all in a state of panic and alert just waiting for that news to break that has a liable source that's credible. He's  said he's done a lot of reading up on him and his lifestyles. Its called Google but you must of thought he was talking about a book on him. He's  going with my gut feeling along with a little research he's  done. Now go find a quote he stated that said he had proof of a source. Smh
I'm bitter.
