We have later picks in which we could get guys like Maker, Zhou Qi, Sabonis. Why the hell would you waste our 3rd pick for something so risky?
Basically this. Go swing for the fences with the 16 or the 23 or 31 pick. Can we at least please get a solid hit with the best pick we have had in such a long time? This is the crown jewel of the deal that saw my favorite all time Celtic leave. Please, let's get it right.
I too want more of a "sure thing" with the #3 rather than a risky pick with possible greater upside. I'm on the fence about Hield vs. Murray. Dunn doesn't want to be here. JBrown seems more like Kedrick Brown part 2.
with a #3 pick I'd want the surest player available as well. the unfortunately part is that it does't look like anyone still available at 3 is sure to be anything more than a decent starter in a couple of years at the earliest. This is one of those years when trading that high pick for an established player seems like the best move. Use the later picks to take a couple of high risk/high reward players like Skal and Maker. Maybe grab Valentine at 16 if he's still there.
