I do not see us making any big trades
I do not see us overpaying sully
I think with the picks we have we could easily get 3 7 footers with 3 point shot and rim protectors
Bender skai maker
Keep amir olynyc and sign a veteran like gasol or Noah and your frontline is set
Trade away mickey and jj

We could literally have nothing resulting from this draft if we did that. Like, we would possibly  look back years from now and say "wow, all 3 of those guys became nothing, while guys like Murray and Valentine became actually productive basketball players"

No offense, but going for the home run on all 3 of our first round picks would be a really bad idea, especially since there's a chance none of them hit.
I could very well see the Hawks... starting Taurean Prince at the 3, who is already better than Crowder, imo.

you vs. the guy she tells you not to worry about

While we have a need for a big, I agree the original idea is fraught with danger, as expressed here. There are useful players in this draft who have a better chance of being a 'hit'. I say this mainly because they are at least proven in a league where you know the standard.

We have later picks in which we could get guys like Maker, Zhou Qi, Sabonis. Why the hell would you waste our 3rd pick for something so risky?

I like all of this but trading Mickey away now seems a bit premature. Need another year to assess even his approxiamate trade value

Basically this. Go swing for the fences with the 16 or the 23 or 31 pick. Can we at least please get a solid hit with the best pick we have had in such a long time? This is the crown jewel of the deal that saw my favorite all time Celtic leave. Please, let's get it right.

Yeah, because the league is dominated by centers.

I also do not see the point of trading Mickey so early.

Bender is not a risk. He will be a good player in this league at the very least. Don't confuse a lack of public awareness with risk, those who have watched him consistently say he is perfect material for the NBA

Personally, we've taken too many home run swings at the moment and would sincerely appreciate a solid double in an area of need.

The biggest HR candidate to me in this field is Deyonta Davis, which may be there with our Dallas pick.

With the #3 I would take Hield, for two simple reasons... he's already a bonafide shooter and he's steadily improved his game each year which means he's coachable.

Bender, Murray, Brown and all these other potential #3 picks haven't proven to me that they can get "better"... I would actually put all of them in the James Young category... too much risk for a pick that is supposed to change the franchise

Murray got better and better as the season went on. In the second half of the year he was scoring at the same rate or better than Buddy.

I too want more of a "sure thing" with the #3 rather than a risky pick with possible greater upside.  I'm on the fence about Hield vs. Murray.  Dunn doesn't want to be here.  JBrown seems more like Kedrick Brown part 2.
