If Boston drafts Bender, I will burn all of my Celtics gear, and stop watching basketball all together.

isn't that what Knicks fans said last year when they had the 4th pick in a 'three player draft'?
Intersting about last years draft is that early on (prior to the cbb season) it was a one player draft (Okafor) then it became a two player draft (Towns) and towns eventually surpassed Okafor, then by draft day a freshman gaurd who can flat out score but might lack athleticism to defend well or become a star entered the top3 and a Euro big ended up probably being the second best player in the class (just roll with it).

Towns = Ingram
Simmons = Okafor
Russell = Murray
Porzingis = Bender

the parallels are crazy

No it wasn`t epic... fail maybe but not epic....

Giannis when DA saw him played against  short , nonathletic amateurs. Fab Melo against them would like like Russel! No way to evaluate his abilities ..

DA went to Greece to see the kid play. We saw the video, the kid was playing like Magic Johnson. Anytime you see a 6'9 kid with the type of handles he displayed you know he is for real because those skills have nothing to do with the competition. Besides, it is the GM's job to know which skills will transfer to the NBA. That is why he makes the big bucks. Now GA is a Buck.

I loved the Porzingis pick for them last draft, I actually was very impressed by Porzingis pre-draft.

I understand being against the pick, but how can you be so so against whats more or less a mystery. I mean we just know so little about the guy. How can you hate him so much?
Exactly my point, we know so little about the guy.
What Denis said. He could very well end up being a bust. The fact that he can't gain playing time in the Israeli league is a huge red flag to me. This pick screams Fab Melo to me.

I honestly wish that these Porzingis comparisons would stop. Porzingis actually played many games for Sevilla in one of the toughest leagues in Europe where he showed a lot of promise IMO. He even put up good numbers against two of the biggest teams in Europe in Real Madrid and Barcelona (17pts, 8reb in 24 min against Real and 18pts, 5reb in 22 min against Barca). Bender has done nothing comparable to the aforementioned. The guy only managed to log 13,5 min per game in a bad league.

To be fair, when Porzingis was Bender's age, he was averaging similar numbers to current bender, with similar minutes per game.
I could very well see the Hawks... starting Taurean Prince at the 3, who is already better than Crowder, imo.

you vs. the guy she tells you not to worry about

That's a good point. But a lot of people are anticipating Bender to take the league by storm just like Porzingis did this year. That just won't happen. Porzingis was a more finished product (you kind of knew what you were going to get), whereas Bender is a big question mark (No guarantee that he will progess like Porzingis did). Could very likely end up like Fab Melo lol.

Sorry, that sentence wasn't well put togehter. People are obviously expecting him to take the league by storm some day in the future, because his story is somewhat similiar to Porzingis'. I personally don't think that Bender will become as good as Porzingis, wherefore I stated it's a bit absurd to think that he will "conquer" the league (in the future) like Porzingis did this year ;D!

hmmm...i sense an internal contradiction here.  ::)
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

Fab Melo was a basketball idiot. If you are looking for this years Fab Melo, Skal and Maker are more likely.

The only scouting Ive heard about bender has been complementary of his BBIQ and competitiveness. Im OK with picking someone I know nothing about. the question is: how much will Danny know?

If Danny can get some interviews and workouts with the guy then Im OK with selecting him.

If Bender is the pick, so be it.  I'm a firm believer in what Danny has done so far.  This team needs a scorer and maybe he can be the guy, as well as a defensive presence.

Personally, I think it's traded to Philly to allow them to get Simmons and a PG.  I like Noel, but hope Danny can hold out for Okafor.

In one sentence you wish the Bender-to-Porzingis comparisons would stop and then later you compare Bender to Porzingis.
