I think he wants no part of the pick.  He is trading it.  Specifically, he's trading it for Love or Okafor.

These are two on a very short list I'd trade the pick for.  Primarily because they are currently the best offensive big man  and the best one future wise.

And perfect fits for Brad and his system.  Both fit in well, team wise.  Far better than Ingram or Simmons.

How is Okafor a great fit? I think he's an awful fit, provides neither pace, nor space, nor defense.

Danny the type of guy to take Brown top 2 smh.

I can see that for some weird reason.

Yeah it REALLY scares me. Especially after we heard he wanted Winslow at 4.

I don't get it. We need offense. Not more inept offensive players who are only known for defense.

Brown isn't even known for his defense. It's OK, but nothing like Winslow.

I'm not worried about Danny blowing the #2 pick though. I'd be more concerned at #3-4 that he'd take Hield. More likely he takes Dunn there, which I wouldn't mind quite as much, but then again Dunn is a really awkward fit in our backcourt.

Drafting Dunn would mean moving IT in a blockbuster trade. Or moving Dunn.

If the Celtics were to trade for Okafor it would be to ship him off for Porzingis or in some other trade.  He does in no way fit what the Celtics appear to be trying to build.  Ainge is likely very interested in Bender or possibly Ellenson if he thinks they project as stretch bigs that can also defend their position reasonably well.  Hield and Murray are also likely as perimeter shooting has got to be on the priority list.

Would love to see the C's get #1 and trade down to #3 or #4 + Okafor.  Then ship Okafor to N.Y. for Porzingis and draft Bender or Murray or Hield.  Conserve cap space and develop until next year,  then hit free agency hard in 2017.

Porzingis is probably the least likely player to be traded by any team. Drafting him is the one single thing that Phil Jackson has done right so far as Knick GM, and by luck as he really wanted D'Angelo Russell.

We wouldn't have to move anyone right away. Just let Turner walk. Smart would continue to play lots of SG/SF, which isn't ideal but it's not the end of the world. I'd take him if I thought he was BPA.

So hard to say but I think Ingram has the potential to be that dynamic scorer that every team covets.

I could very well see the Hawks... starting Taurean Prince at the 3, who is already better than Crowder, imo.

you vs. the guy she tells you not to worry about

it depends what his plan is.  there is a window here where bradley, thomas and crowder are on affordable deals so if he plans on keeping them together and playing for the now  I think Simmons is the most ready to contribute in a bunch of ways that doesn't require a offensive skillset immediately.

if he'a looking to go younger,  ingram.

Only two players in the history of the Big East have won player of the year and defensive player of the year twice.  The first was Patrick Ewing, the second was Kris Dunn.

But only one of the two played in a top conference.

I guess I don't follow the love for Murray. He projects to be a 6th man combo guard in the NBA. He banks purely on offense, yet his lack of athleticism & quickness may hinder him getting to the rim in the NBA, limiting him more to a spot shooting role.

That's not what I want with the 3rd in the draft. We have plenty of role player guards on this team. I'm not on the Bender train quite yet, and Danny's poor track record of overlooking European's concerns me. But if I'm the Cs I'm exploring that kid REALLY closely.

It's a star driven league. This is one of the only chances the Cs have to land one any time soon (spare me the Durant talk). I hope they prove willing to take risk over their history of largely playing it safe in the draft.

Buddy Hield. Good locker room guy, high motor and ready to contribute in day one. I like Rozier, but I can see him getting package for a need along with Hunter, Young and some 2nd rnd picks.

Description: role player. You get these with the Dallas pick, or the Celtics pick. We have about 9 of these guys already. We need differentiators, not more role guys.

Heild may well be very very good. But if the Cs take him, it should not be primarily for the reasons stated above.

He said he wants immediate help, that most likely rules out Bender.
